Ha! Gerber makes plenty of money off of our foils and printer service. We have a license for each of our three gerber printers so one of them is probably newer. If we actually designed in Omega it would be a different story, but it's not a big part of our work flow.
(Sorry for spamming up...
Gerber Omega never imports clipping paths properly for me either... but we run omega 2.. lol.
I usually just simply all of my graphics down to the bare minimum. Eliminate clipping paths (do an overlap weld/pathfinder), etc.
Maybe just trying paint instead of vinyl.. paint the first surface > apply your transfer tape > laser > paint > remove transfer tape
You can laser vinyl as long as it's not PVC vinyl according the books that came with our lasers.. which even give how to's on cutting vinyl.
Did someone smash it out, or did it just break? If someone just bonked it with an elbow or something on accident while walking by and it broke then there is probably a bigger problem than keeping people away from the window. Probably need to look at what kind of material is being used and how...
I've attached an abridged copy of the pre install documentation for the L26500.
For the L26500, It's two of these, 220-240vac, 20amps, each on their own breaker.
MrSalumi asked before he realized it, but it is very simple in to do it in Photoshop, assuming we are staying in Photoshop. It's just one step. Just make sure you set your angles to the same value in each channel to keep the halftones one color.
1. 2. 3.
If you have a feed roller for kraft paper on the machine.. and aren't using kraft.. you can use that as your in feed for long runs. I've only done it once or twice since I've had great luck running without it.
My runs stay straight as long as I load them straight. I usually just line it up...
Alrighty, It's probably not the smoothest way but it only takes a few steps to do.
So first step would be create your gradient. Seems to work best from BLACK to WHITE at 100% transparency. If there is transparency, it makes the halftones transparent. Then we will apply the halftone effect in...
Someone should just hassle HP to give us an unlimited chip for them so we can pump whatever weird fluids we want through that machine. It's no longer our main machine, but it would be nice to keep it in operation for as long as possible. That being said, I've started hording ink for it.
It sounds like you're alluding to the price and ease of service being an advantage over the HP. I believe the print heads on the HP latex run about $110/ea. There are six heads, they can be changed as needed. They are a cartridge design, very simply replaced in minutes without any tools. At...
My experience with perf cutting on the graphtec 7000 has been less than stellar... but you don't have to change/move the knife to do it. It's just a separate "condition", so if your cutting software supports sending different modes or cut layers, it would be able to switch between the two...
