    yeah, looks like 3M 680 Lemon Yellow to me. regular yellow is more orange, and the diamond-grade yellow is greenish-yellow.

    +1 light scuffing for good measure. acrylic enamel paints work great on vinyl. ....exterior use, however, can be sketchy unless using cast materials.

    machine detects the level of the ink via combination of chip registry and a switch that makes contact with the bag of ink inside of the cartridge. bad bag, or bad switch, could be causing false registration of ink levels.

    no good wet, the adhesive is so aggressive that you'll most likely seal pockets of application fluid beneath the vinyl. suck it up, slap it on.
