  1. Boston here I come!

Sidenote. I sooo need to come back asap. Loving this city
  2. Boston here I come!

Wow nice! Thanks for the responses! Lol @ Rūpužé, toad, yeah Lithuanians don't have actual curse words but that's prolly the worst thing you can call someone besides a gaidys (literal term rooster, but known as a term for f*g) or a juodukai (literal is black child but is slang for the n-word)...
  3. 3m 8518

was about to buy a few rolls, but now I might just give Arlon more of my business. maybe 1-2 now instead of 3-0, just in case i need some 3M around to match existing projects. will post my findings next week.
  4. Boston here I come!

never been east-coast, but flying into Boston tomorrow a.m. and all i have planned is the Sam Adam's brewery-tour. anything else cool to do besides the token american historical sites? also, if no1's got plans for sunday... there's a HUGE Lithuanian polka-dancing festival going on that you...
  5. Braille directly on door

<3 photopolymer agreed, however, that raster is yet another weapon in your arsenal. i'll continue to sub it out for now. I still think its a great idea to raster the door, if that is your only option. label on the door is better than no label at all, BUT label NEXT to the door (latch-side...
  6. Reverse Wound

o? i'm sorry if I sounded like a stink. was just chiming in and +1'ing my postcount, I guess :(
  7. Interior Mural

    fantastic!
  8. Today's laugh

he should also know, that, when you apply prints to banner material.... flapping in the breeze, rolling-up / unrolling, etc. will eventually cause the print to crack apart and delaminate in sections from the banner.
  9. Reverse Wound

never had an issue with reverse-wound material. i always just flip the roll around so that it feeds printside-up, no matter which way its wound. i actually prefer reverse-wound.... get more out of the roll when I don't have to worry about fingerprints from handling the media while...
  10. Braille directly on door

pfft. doming resin? just make a template, drill a tiny hole, and place a glass bead in it. just don't tell the raster-braille people that I just released the secret of their patent.
  11. Looking for arrhythmia line

+1 don't be overly-anal about "perfection". An arrhythmia, in itself, is a deviation from the norm. you have nearly-complete freedom here to screw up and call it "art"
  12. Blue printing PURPLE??

banding in the print leads me to believe that some cyan isn't laying down over the magenta? what's your test print look like? also noted, your black seems to be "overspraying". you might have some head issues there.
  13. Full coverage frosting, large window

hinge your material on the top of the window frame, give yourself an excess 6" for the "dip". wet apply, felt squeegee to smooth, and regular squeegee + soapy water to give a final firm apply.
  14. Anyone want to trade likes on FACEBOOK?

most definately! hit me up: http://www.facebook.com/michaelsigns
  15. Boo... Grimco won't be carrying Oracal

also works great as a cross-reference to any of the 4 brands listed (3M, Avery, Mactac, Oracal). Love MacTac economy vinyl, as well,... prints/sticks good and no issues of failures, yet, even beyond spec.'d lifespan. Although the 5828P brand, not shown, has a slight blue-tint to the vinyl...
  16. Boo... Grimco won't be carrying Oracal

I've just been wary about relying completely on F******s for my products, as they'd stuck me in a hard place not too long ago. Great products and service, most of the time, but some things you just don't forget... (and everyone else is willing to beat their pricing!)
  17. Boo... Grimco won't be carrying Oracal

I LOVE Oracal too! However,I'm down to only 1 supplier that carries it, Fellers, and I like to have options so I started researching another go-to "non-3M" product... Arlon has come out strong with Oracal products/pricing. Give them a shot and you won't be disappointed. I have a product...
  18. jv3 160sp oddly stuck in "local mode"

i leave my printer off for extended periods of time with solution in it, so I'll back you up that there's no issue here. didn't you recently have an issue with the page-width sensor? If its just giving you cleaning options, i'm more inclined to believe that it thinks you either have no media...
  19. Beer Label for fun

Posting for fun and willing to incorporate some ideas into this beer label for 48 bottles and a homebrew kit that my sister is giving to her boyfriend for his birthday. So anways, he's irish, and red-headed, so... What sounds better? Firecrotch ale? lager? lol, IPA? i guess I could put a...
