Welcome to Signs101!
It sounds like you are printing bitmap images. Since pixels are made up of right angles, any straight up and down and left to right object will look fine. When a curve gets placed into the mix it makes a stair step pattern because there are no curved pixels. If you have to...
You blew a head fuse on the main board. Look for fuses F1 and F2 on the main board and test for continuity. That will tell you which one is bad. You can replace the fuse with a 2 amp quick blow fuse. Do not try to jump the fuse with alligator clips or anything as that will just cause more problems.
Try removing the main board memory, cleaning the terminal and leads and then re-seat it back in the board. That works in the ValueJets when they have this problem. Make sure to unplug the machine, hit the power button and let it sit for 15 minutes at least before messing around with the boards.
Anytime you do something out of the ordinary during these wash sequence things will get weird. Make sure your waste tank is actually in tripping the sensor to say that it is installed. If it is, try hitting the down key and then enter. This is what you would normally hit after changing the tank...
Yes it uses the DX7 head.
Yes 1440 max resolution.
Life expectancy about 6 billion shots give or take a billion or 2.
Don't try to estimate ink usage based on the print head. The general rule is to think about what a full coverage prints price per square inch of ink is. You will get between...
The FC8600 series can take up to 59 mil material and has a 600g max down force. It sounds like it could cut your material but I would get a sample cut before you bite the bullet. Feel free to give us a call if you have any other questions or would like a quote.
I don't have any experience with this machine but I will throw in my .02.
Cap tops generally last about a year. Any cap top over a year old I change first as it can be a big part of the problem and is usually cheap to replace. I would do that in your case. While you are down there make sure...
Go with the VS for speed or the SP to save money initially.
That being said, take a look at the Mimaki printer/cutters. They have similar printers for usually a cheaper price.
Try this:
Right click on the application and select properties. A window will pop up and you want to click the "Compatibility" tab. Under that tab there will be an option called "Compatibility Mode". Click the check box to activate it and select Windows XP (Service Pack 3). At the bottom of the...
It sounds like there might be a file issue or communication problem. Usually if you have file that has white area it will skip that part to save time and just push the media forward. It's almost like the printer thinks that part of the file is white and therefore doesn't need to print.
I just checked and the illustrator plug-in for Graphtec does not support the FC-4100 series. You could install Flexi on your new computer and it should work. Here is a link the drivers as you may need the 64bit one for the new computer.
I was hoping someone had a better way to do this as there has to be a better way but I will throw out this idea that has worked for me.
With the machine turned off and unplugged, take the battery out of the main board and boot up again in the limit position mode. As far as I know the battery...
The Mimaki UV printers use UV LED lights so they last much longer. The stated spec in Mimaki's spec sheet is ~10,000 hours depending on environment and usage of course and is not guaranteed. On the new JFX200 printers they are actually covering the LEDs even after your warranty is over if they...
Are you pushing the Left, Up and Right buttons while turning on the sub power? The machine probably wants to clean because it knows the heads have not been capped. Try turning the machine on using the main power button in the back while trying to get into the limit position mode that way.
There is no such software. Not to sound too snarky, but it sounds like you need a dedicated employee to setup files and manage workflow.
One suggestion: If all of the files are the same size and are the same distance from each other on the jig, load all of the files into Versaworks, they will...
Just checked my version of Flexi and that machine is not listed as a possible set up. Try setting up the cutter in production manager as the Saga 1350II. It may work as the drive should be essentially the same. I used to do this with Roland cutters that didn't have drivers yet and it works most...
