  1. Graphtec CE6000-60 or FC8600-60??

The CE-6000 is great for general vinyl cutting and a lot of thicker materials. I would go with that for your application. The FC-8600 does what the CE-6000 does but is more of a production machine that cuts faster and thicker materials for sand blasting etc.
  2. Any ideas on a printable Post-It material?

GMI/MOJAVE Brand Sign Ad is what we use for our graphics in our lobby. Cleanly removable up to a year and beyond in my experience. It's great for glass and dry wall.
  3. Print on transparent media?

Without white ink, you will not get the results you are looking for. I'd sub it out.
  4. Need help fast!!!

This happened because of the nozzle wash. Most of the time you can let the heads sit in a nozzle wash indefinitely but sometimes there is an issue that will create a siphon. Usually it is because the waste tubes become submerged in the waste ink and/or your pump is not closing properly before...
  5. Mutoh maintenance station / Cap top?

How old is your maintenance station? Usually I will start with a new cap top rather than replacing the whole maintenance station becuase it is cheaper and normally does the trick. If the maintenance station is older than one year I would just replace the cap top. If it has never been changed in...
  6. Media width not read correctly

Don't clean your encoder strip with the solvent cleaning solution!
  7. Cyan and Magenta not Printing at all. (Nothing)

We will need a machine model. Did you see ink flow into the damper when you did the fill-up?
  8. HELP please ROLAND VERSACAMM 540v lost ink

The caps seal with the head so the pump can draw ink through the heads so it could definitely be the caps. Run a cleaning cycle and watch the waste tubes. If ink doesn't come out, either the heads are completely clogged, the pump is clogged and/or the caps just aren't sealing properly.
  9. JV3-160SP prints but no ink comes out

It's most likely a bad encoder sensor. The JV3 is one of the only machines I know of that does this. If the sensor doesn't send a signal back, it just keeps moving back and forth but the heads don't get a signal to fire.
  10. JV33 Rasterlink 5 Error message

It looks like the Ps3.dll is used for memory allocation. The .tiff file may be too big for your computer to handle. Try making a copy of the file and size it down to be a couple MBs and try to open it in Rasterlink. If it works, I would say you just don't have enough memory to open the big file...
  11. Is education the answer?

I got my first job in the sign industry because my high school had a graphic design program that I achieved a certificate in. I learned design and more importantly, how to use the adobe products. My first employer never asked to see the certificate, they just wanted to see if I could run...
  12. XC-540 magenta head failure

Make sure that when you replaced the cap tops the ink is actually flowing through the waste system. You can take a syringe and hook it up to the tube that comes from the cap top and connects to the pump. If you pull the syringe down with the heads capped and no ink comes out, check the bottom of...
  13. Vj1614

I see this happen for two reasons: 1. Some after market wipers are too stiff and flick the ink everywhere rather than letting it flow down into the ink trough. You can find good wipers on our website if you think you may have after market ones. 2. There is a black piece of plastic that looks...

  15. Mimaki JV3 160sp Loosing Ink

Check the tube that runs from the black cap top, through the pump and into the waste tank. The end of the tube should be above the waste tank and not submerged in the waste ink. If it is, that's your problem. If the tube is submerged it creates a siphon and pulls all of the ink out.
  16. data issue?

As long as ink is flowing through the maintenance station, you could be looking at electrical issues. You could do a data/cable swap to see if the problem follows the cables or the print head. If the problem moves to another print head, you probably have a damaged head cable, slider board and/or...
  17. data issue?

The first thing I would check is for physical damage on the bottom of the head. It looks like you have some cross contamination going on in the Cyan as well. If you haven't changed the cap tops in over a year or more, I would replace them. Cross contamination is usually caused by a bad/clogged...
  18. Problem with printing black

If your black damper empties during printing there is an air leak above the print head. I would check the ink line thoroughly for any cracks or other damage. Also check the manifold for damage that may be letting air in. If everything looks good, change the damper and o-ring and that should fix...

  20. Graphtec USB Driver Install, Win 7 - Printer driver was not installed. Access denied

Even though you are logged in as the administrator, right click on the install.exe and select open as administrator. I know it sounds redundant but it has worked for me a couple times.
