  1. News OCE Arizona 660XT UPGRADE WITH LED

How are you coming up with 100,000 hour lifespan? You've had machines with these systems in place for that length of time?
  2. Opinion Buying a used flatbed

I would agree that you should get in front of a machine and work with it for as long as they'll let you. Print some solid color swatches along with jobs you've already run for comparison purposes if at all possible. I wouldn't be afraid of looking at a brand that's not one of the staple brands...
  3. Beginner question on down cutters

How did the conventional milling work? Are you cutting material much thicker than the diameter of your tooling?
  4. Need Help Having Problem with Gerber'sArtPath when trying to Panel a job

Artpath is in the top 5 single worst programs I've used in or around the signage and display industry.
  5. ShopSabre vs Camaster

If you're still undecided I'd ask to get some sample cut from both machines before purchasing. I thought with SS that meant you'd have to get a customer of theirs to do that for you, but I could be wrong. I've been pricing several 5x10 based CNCs for the last year and for what SS is charging...
  6. ShopSabre vs Camaster

Did you call on any of the references SS provided?
  7. Need Help Sabre 408 NOT cutting perfect circles, ovals, etc...

I would also check your lead screws. If something's not lubricated well and/or the coating on the leads screws is no longer black and it's showing silver/raw metal you're going to have a problem.
  8. 10yr Old Wrap Removal Suggestions

I've done too many of these. We used a weed burner to heat the panels up and get to peeling. Mineral spirits and a single edge razor take off any lingering adhesive. Denatured alcohol will take off any of the marks the single edge razor leaves - I don't mean scratches, I mean the scuffs the...
  9. removing large vinyl from raw aluminum trailer

We've done them with heat & clean any adhesive left or hot pressure washer method. That's not always feasible or available, but it works if you give it a go.
  10. Artist wants to cut...

I DM's a message over to you Keith.
  11. trotec laser vs bodor laser

Pretty sure those are the bodors that are rebranded. Rabbit laser and boss laser are similar machines that get QC'd in the states and offer a higher level of support than a straight outright chinese machine. You pay for that, but it could be seen as a great value depending on what you need or not.
  12. Need Help Wall graphics on UV printer

Silvering and UV/lam is always a pesky issue. On one hand the silvering almost always improves or disappears completely, on the other it takes time for that to happen. It's hard to sell a product to someone that doesn't look that great initially on the premise it will improve later.
  13. Best UV Flatbed out

Fuji and Oce have "preowned" machines your local rep can provide info on. They're machines they take back in and sell with a 6month or 1yr warranty/service package. I'm guessing you'd be looking at $75k - 90k for something that way depending on how it's configured.
  14. HP Announce R Series Flatbed Latex printer

There's been whispers about this for a bit. Looks like big markdowns on their hybrid UVs will be coming to clear inventory.
  15. Any word on an HP Latex flatbed printer?

Heard all the same stuff at SGIA as well. Although not directly from HP, they weren't allowed to talk about anything official at all. It's definitely piqued our interest although I'm not keen on buying the first model of any new technology brought to market.
  16. Agfa Anapurna M2540fb Flatbed White ink

It's definitely not an apples to apples comparison looking at the MW or MV line in comparison to the 2540i. The speeds on the M lines appear much slower from what I've read. Mind you I'm not running one to provide my experience, I'm basing it off the specs I see available on those models...
  17. Need Help Considering a CNC Router

What will your intended use of the machine be? 3D signage or lettering? Are you looking for something that will double as a cutter for digital finishing too?
  18. Oce Arizona Ink Supplier And/Or Alternative

Nazdar, sericol and polymeric are all 3rd party inks we've run in several of our machines.
  19. BEST FILM TO USE FOR COLD LAMINATOR TO AVOID BUBBLES

Silvering definitely goes away, although it can be a tough sell to the client if the prints are fresh. We let parts rest as long as possible before presenting to the client. This is PS lam on digital UV prints.
