  1. Is customer service really this bad?

Indeed, Gino. To be fair, we have some good suppliers who provide outstanding customer service. I emailed a sales manager for my main supplier last week to brag on the exceptional service provided by one of their reps.
  2. Is customer service really this bad?

Just had a similar situation. I told the operator that I had some technical questions regarding a product in their catalog. Her response, "Can't you watch the video?" I asked if it would be too much trouble to put me in touch with someone who could answer some questions not outlined in said...
  3. What would cause a distorted print?

    Dirty encoder strip?
  4. Flexi 10.5 printing wireframe as thick line

Have you checked to see if there is a stroke on the object? Sometimes, if a stroke has not been converted to outlines it will not be visible on the screen. Try clearing all strokes, or Select All>Arrange>Convert Stroke to Outlines.
  5. JV33 Sponge

Yes, I am referring to the spit pad. After a year or so of printing, there was a heavy buildup of gummy ink on the sponge that was transferring onto the bottom of the carriage and making its way onto the prints. I removed the sponge and cleaned it--it is working fine now. However, I did order a...

Ahh, you beat me to it, Steve G. I had the same issue when we upgraded to v8.

  10. Is there any way to flatten an image?

You could rasterize it prior to saving as a pdf. Or you could save a step and export the file as a raster image for proofing.
  11. Are JV3 and JV33 wipers the same?

Yep. We gave our remaining wipers (and other parts) to the person that purchased our JV3 when we upgraded to the JV33.
  12. Inexpensive Air-Release Vinyl Options

We are in the $170 range for IJ35C as well, but we opt to pay a bit more for the Oracal 3165RA. I had a ton of quality issues with the IJ35C and stopped using it altogether. I love the 3M cast films, but I have been less than impressed with their venture into the calendared market.
  13. NY SODA BAN................alternative

My mother made some Limoncello recently that is just fantastico.
  14. Help - print a little too dark

The only thing that comes to mind is that you had the "Use Printer Spot Colors" option checked in the Advanced Options tab in the RIP dialog, and the RIP mapped your spot color yellow as black. I don't even know if the Flexi RIP has that option for your printer. That also wouldn't explain why...
  15. Why do things get progressively worse with every upgrade?

Maybe try Optimize by Smooth Arc instead? I have witnessed the phenomenon you described when using Optimize by Curve--sometimes it will throw the handles way off the screen. It doesn't happen often though.
  16. word .docx to Corel

This is a great tip that I picked up here on Signs 101. You may also be able to export the .DOCX file as a pdf via PrimoPDF or similar program.
  17. Beer!

Some dark beers contain unfermented sugars that provide flavor, color and body. These sugars combined with alcohol give me a headache as well.
  18. Beer!

I enjoy most of the Stone brews including Arrogant Ba5tard. My favorite is probably their IPA.
  19. What is wrong with you people in Florida ?

I read that it wasn't LSD at all. He was ingesting "bath salts" which are a synthetic speed available OTC in some areas. Sad.
