x2 on Justin Pate, subscribe to his website "the wrap institute" and take a few classes, he teaches the avery workshops, but 3M or lowen classes are great also.
We don't touch them and we definitely do not use primer 94 on them.
I'm not going to pay for new plastics when they want the wrap removed and the primer has wrecked the plastics.
N Glantz added a "fuel charge" for delivery a few years back when gas was $4 +, they insisted it would go away when prices came down.... Its still on every bill.
Matte films have a lower surface energy which makes adhesion harder. Did you wipe it with IPA before trying to apply? Ive had good luck with IPA and some heat on the matter before applying spot gloss logos on top.
We say yes to apparel jobs all the time... but we have a full screen print department.
If you don't want to do something, have no knowledge or passion for it just be honest and pass. Id rather see someone stick to what they know and have a passion for instead of half assing something just to do...
Love our graphtec. If you plan on getting a printer later buy a plotter that is big enough to support the printer you will buy later.
In my experience combo printer plotters suck (but thats just my opinion), so get a good plotter now and a good printer later you will be further ahead instead...
We also ask that vehicles come clean. Now we are in WI and you can clean the vehicle and drive it here and its dirty, but we use our best judgement... Ive had vehicles show up covered in mud. We charge them to wash or re-schedule the vehicle.
Every job is so different we do a by the job, But that is based off of an educated guess on the time it will take to do.
If i think the job will take me x hours, we do x hours times shop rate for install and i usually give customers a range for install. Between x and y hours for installation...
The vehicle appears to be a mazda (my guess 2011ish mazda 3), my wife has the same car, Factory installed matte black vinyl on the doors. It was done so poorly i removed it and re-installed it correct for her shortly after we bought the car.
Like others have said, get it fixed by a...
on our 360 i used a generic gloss vinyl setting, 10 pass @ 215 for the temp and that seems to be the ticket.
We use EZ print for our heat press apparel though.
hopefully that is a little helpful
Any foamboard drops get tossed (they wont survive laying around the shop anyway, someone will ding it with something)
Dibond or aluminum gets cut to 12"x18" for parking signs and set on the shelf. Anything smaller is garbage.
Same goes for rolls of vinyl and lam. at some point you waste more...
This... We can print direct to chrome with our HPL360 but we often print on laminate and laminate it to the chrome, then laminate it again... so 2 layers of lam on the chrome.
You guys are close enough, do you want to quote it out wholesale for me making the base of the sign? We can do the graphic, it is just simple print graphics, just don't have the capability of building a custom cabinet in house. What you posted is exactly what they are looking for, just not push...
Probably the same reason id rather have a Ferrari but drive a ford... whats the saying "Champagne taste, beer budget"
I will end up giving him options for a square box, or an externally lit sign.
Thanks everyone :thumb:
That was a thought if it came down to it. I was just hoping to find something quick and easy, hopefully not custom (cheap customer, arent they all)
That is what i figured it may cost, and he is cheap. I may just direct him to my previous suggestion.
He already has lights on the building, we...
Have a client looking for a roughly 2' or 3' circle internally lit sign, but he wants to hang it from the corner of his building to have graphics on both sides.
I'm not having an issue finding a 1 sided sign cabinet in a circle, but finding something that can be suspended or hang off the side...
