  1. Discussion Autobody

Only advice i have is that i'm sick to death of every auto body place having the car silhouette like that. We have 4 customers that all basically have the same logo with a different name (we didn't create any of the logos) and its insane. Try something different.
  2. New Guy New Member Checking In..

Getting vinyl on a vehicle is one thing, getting it to stay long term and look good is different. Thats where training comes in. Your jeep may look great when its done. But 6, 8, 12, 24 months down the line, it may not look the same.

  4. How do you pay your installers?

THIS, as an employee/ the only sign/ vehicle graphics design, production and installer at our shop (we do paper and apparel printing also) I get paid hourly, slammed or slow its the same pay. 6. Print room flooring

I'm a big fan of epoxy coating concrete, easy to clean up and looks nice. When we take over the space next to us i will be lobbying hard for that in my new print room and install bay. I dont know that the garage flooring tiles or the spongy floor tiles would work (atleast not in our shop) we...
  7. Looking for a beginner printer/cutter

We have had our L360 for about 3 months, my print heads life is still fine, i haven't replaced them yet. But yes, print heads are a "consumable" on latex printers, the difference is the cost. A replacement print head for our solvents were $xxxx + a tech coming out to replace them, and the...
  8. Looking for a beginner printer/cutter

Based off what you said i would go latex. Latex pros: instantly cured, you can laminate right off the printer. low/ no odor, if you are running this from home that would be a huge plus in my book. why you would want a printer and cutter separate? Well, this is my opinion since i've owned and...
  9. Looking for a beginner printer/cutter

How often will you be running the printer? If its a "side gig" and you arent printing daily, i don't know if i personally would want a solvent/ eco sol printer. Id go latex. That said, i would also do a printer and cutter separately not 1 unit that does both.

  16. Cutting Master 3 - Not a Big Fan

I actually don't mind it, some of the things you mentioned are annoying but nothing that can't be worked around. I personally like the ease of adjusting from 1 preset to another so easily, i guess that trumps the little annoyances for me.
  17. Stick to flat wrap?

Wipe the matte vinyl down with IPA and stick. After install i use a cleaner and aftercare product since IPA can be rough on the vinyl. Cut vinyl on my car has stuck on the matte just fine the past 3 years.
  18. wrap design

Talk to scott from skepple.net Great work and he does a lot of that style (grunge/ rust)
  19. Do you do this yourself?

We do all of our own installs and very very rarely sub anything out. I'm not comfortable putting my reputation in someone elses hands (call me a control freak) However, if a client wants to buy just the sign and handle permits and install themselves i let them. I wish we would install...
  20. Window Trims

Depends on the car and how tight the trim is and how easy it is to remove, every vehicle is different. If the trim isn't tight to the body we will tuck and cut. If it is tight we will mark where the trim falls on the body, remove the trim and run knifeless in a bit from our marks sealing with...
