I really need to learn to use Illustrator.
We are predominantly Corel based, but every now and then need to use Illustrator on a file. Everytime this happens, it takes me three times as long to do anything due to lack of experience in Illustrator, and I end up wondering why it all seems so...

After reading the thread about Patty's Christmas Party (hehe) I was thinking about the whole "offense" thing.
To my reckoning, it is impossible to cause offense - you can only take offense, thus it's really your problem not the person perceived to cause it?
No?

Having difficulty understanding how this works. On the face of it, an object placed on a master layer (e.g. a background image) should appear on every page? The problem is, while this appears true, it always seems to be at the front of each page, effectively obscuring everything...

Regardless of your final price, my suggestion would be that it should have been established up front before you did the job - you would avoid any potential issues with pricing. Nevertheless, your price sounds fair.
How's the snow?

Does anyone know of a supplier of this type of magnetically receptive material in Canada? I can't seem to track down a distributor this side of the border. We've used tin before, but I think the roll type material would suit us better. We did contact Magnum Magnetics Canadian...

Thanks for all your replies - d'oh I never thought about the Roland color palette. I wasn't so much looking for a black 'formula' (everyone has the favorite, it would seem) but how it's handled in Versaworks. The Roland palette answers the question!
Greetings!
A question - if I set a color in a file to rich black (e.g. C30 M20 Y20 K100), do I need to set anything in Versaworks to actually produce this? Do I need to set it as a spot color to ensure the CMYK breakdown is maintained? I know the RIP will change colors based on profiles, etc...
Greetings!
I seem to recall I've had a similar issue in the past, though can't remember exactly when. It seems to me that for some reason re-sizing the whole graphic, even by a small amount, made the issue go away? Worth a try.
We use PDF files for the majority of our output and for the most part it's fine. I have observed though that while spot colors seem better in CMYK, for actual photo images RGB seems to be better.
The other comment is of course that the on-screen preview in Versaworks is horrible, quality and...
