  1. Contour cut problems

It's possible that the problem originates from your printer. If you print a 400mm square and then measure it, is it actually 400mm? I have had the same problem with cutting when my prints were distorted due to improper material loading, dirty grit rollers

  4. solvent inkjet printing on metallic vinyl

Can anyone share the basic principles of printing on metallic vinyl? I typically have blotchy prints when experimenting with metallic vinyl. Any suggestions about temperature or ink saturation? Is humidity a factor for the vinyl itself, or will it just effect the liner? I am just starting out...

  7. telescoping media

that's how I typically fix telescoping too, this particular media always has adhesive bleeding out on the edges, making next to impossible to fix that way...it's almost like I would need to re-wind the entire roll. Any rewinding products out there?

  9. Open source 3d Printer

these rapid prototyping printers can make things in a variety of ways; they can extrude different plastics (Fused Deposition Modeling shown above) or they can even use a laser to fuse real metal particles together or sinter acetate sheeting. it's the most fun technology I have worked with...

I will send you a chinese yoyo if you help me figure this out!
  11. telescoping media

  12. telescoping media

anyone have luck keeping media wound concentrically on a core? I always get vinyl delivered a little telescoped, run it through a printer onto a take-up reel where is gets a bit more telescoped, and then try to run it through a laminator; 150' at a time. I am running 30" media with 27" laminate...

sled? Hi Pat, I am back to a laminating project again. I am not totally understanding the "sled" part. (I did do a search, and it yielded this old conversation we had) Is the sled just something to push the lam through the machine without sticking it to the rollers? then you feed in your...

Hi, I am getting this error from out of the blue on a JV33. "error 211 head warm temp, (1,0,0,0)" Any one know what causes this? There is an infrared heater in front of this printer, but I have 3 other JV33's printing without issue, and they all have the heaters in front of them. When the...
  19. How do I find this arch!?

you could get the engineer's drawing and hope that the carpenter didn't have to deviate at all, but the safest way would be to make a cardboard template as suggested above. If it is too difficult to access, maybe you could photograph it (head on; at it's elevation) and find a common element like...

select the path, goto "Object" > "Path" > "Offset Path." then you can enter an off-set value. Say your background is a circle and you need a .25" bleed. Select the circle, give it an offset of .25" and then reselect the original and clear it's appearance and assign it as your cut... I am...
