  1. Is there any way to flatten an image?

I find the screenshot method mentioned above to be the quickest, and it works no matter what document/image/software you're using
  2. Spv-540 Relieving roller pressure after plot and overnight

leaving them engaged and not rolling can result in a flat spot that could potentially throw off your print-to-cut registration. If mine aren't cutting, the rollers are always up.
  3. Foam Cleaning Swabs? Where to get them cheap?

swabs I use these for cleaning around solvent printheads: http://www.grainger.com/Grainger/CHEMTRONICS-Cleaning-Swab-1UYE1?cm_sp=IO-_-Home-_-MPC&cm_vc=HPPVZ3 1 tip will clean the wiper, perimeter of print head & capping station on all 5 of our JV33's. We usually use a paper towel and soak the...
  4. Epson GS600 IR Drier

You can mount multiple driers to your DigiDri stand. They are also equally effective directed at the front of the print as well as the back. Hope that helps.
  5. are warranties worth it in your opinion?

Thanks for the replies! I was thinking it was a waste of money, but it's easier to make the decision now that I have the valued opinions of other people in the field. Thanks again!
  6. JV33 Sponge

If you are referring to the "spit pad," it isn't anything special and should last the life of the machine. I have had them pop out somehow, but just stuck them right back in place without issue. Mine are all crusty and black with plasticized ink all over them and the printer still works and...
  7. Digital Magnetic?

Most roll feed printers aren't designed to pull that much weight off of a roll. Also, as stated above, the heat transfer of magnetic material isn't great so the print quality will suffer. When the material gets under the print head, it has memory of being on it's core. If it isn't relaxed at...
  8. are warranties worth it in your opinion?

Do you buy extended warranties for your JV33 printers? On a 2yr old JV33, I was offered an extended warranty for $3500.00. I am thinking that the only real problem I could have that I would want warrantied would be a print head, and that cost about the same as the warranty. The print head...
  9. 21' Hells Bay Boat Wrap

What are you charging for boat wraps? What would you charge if you were supplied with a print ready file, and only handled printing and installation? Are they typically warrantied? What materials are recommended for salt water boats? Anyone in Central Fl doing this? Thanks
  10. Cutting Master Y copies before X copies

sorting cut data some software will have a check box for "sorting Data" (referred to above.) If you don't see it in your driver, you can sometimes control the cut order by drawing your cuts in the order that you want them executed
  11. Cannot open port

had this happen to me too This happens to us when the power goes out. We are running USB2 cables directly to some plotters, and we have to start re-assigning ports and it gets back in order after about 30min of tinkering... Dumb luck for sure. With so much else going on, I usually just get it...
  12. losing USB conneciton

Intermittently, one of out S-75's "can not be found." The Wasatch settings tab has to be opened and the USB # has to be changed in order for the machine to be recognized. Communication had to be changed from USB3 to USB in order to work today. At this particular station, there are three...
  13. Printing on Translucent

In my experience, gloss finishes tend to highlight defects that may not be as evident on matte surfaces. There is probably banding on the matte prints as well; they just aren't as visible. Have you tried dropping your ink levels and increasing your pre + print temps a little? Good Luck!
  14. Right and wrong

I try not to do business with family, friends, neighbors or anyone else I wouldn't be comfortable confronting in court. Good Luck!
  15. Summa S75T cutting into barcode.

figured it out! I went through every screen on the control panel of the S-75 to compare it to our 3 other S-75's settings and everything matched throughout all 4 plotters. I then went through the settings in Wasatch (again…) where I found that one of our operators had set the top & bottom...
  16. Summa S75T cutting into barcode.

Red lines indicate where blade cuts. Cyan lines indicate designed cut. Anyone ever see this on a Summa S-75 T Series? This happens with every file. The same file can be cut on any of our other S-75 plotters without issue. Cutting via Wasatch and USB2 cable. Latest firmware version. I've worked...
  17. roll slitter

Thanks! that's what I found on the web as well. It's good to hear that you are having success with it before I invest in one.
  18. roll slitter

I have 40" rolls of printed and laminated material that I need to slit into a 15" roll and a 25" roll. I will have to do this on an ongoing basis, so I am looking to buy or make a slitter of my own. Anyone have any advice? Thanks!
  19. Multiple feed rolls behind Inkjet?

that's a great idea. I want the same thing for some of our printers, and have prototyped some things. The biggest issue aside from supporting the media on flanges, is keeping the rolls absolutely square to the platen. Having it feed through crooked kills the value. As stated above, this set-up...
  20. Direct Color Systems IR3 Cyan ink?

I think that ink is undergoing further development, and DCS will send you some of the new ink for free
