  1. Onyx just staring at me

Kill the postershop instances, delete the job files from the Work folder, restart onyx. Rerip files, print. And you shouldn't have virus protection like Norton running on your RIP computer, at most run MS Security Essentials. Active anti-virus really slows down RIPs.
  2. Someone Actually Did It...

:goodpost: Wish more people felt the same way.
  3. What's your Facebook Pages?

http://facebook.com/username for those who have 25 likes but don't have a pretty url yet. Should claim one for your personal account as well just to have it claimed.
  4. Any experience with CANVAS?

Giclee has fallen out of favor for obvious reasons, now artists are specific in their cutlines "solvent digital inkjet print on X substrate" or whatever. Depends on the artist/studio/gallery. I wouldn't attempt artist canvas prints with a Roland but I'm super picky--have you tried Roland's own...
  5. Samsung Galaxy Tab Opinions

You can install Netflix app on any android phone just need to trick it a little. http://lifehacker.com/5801720/how-to-install-netflix-on-almost-any-android-device You can also try installing straight from the APK, works on some (did on my X). Cheapest Android tablet right now is the Nook...
  6. Chip & Dale.......................

Jerk, my 80 year old grandma used to do that to squirrels, it's insanely mean. At least kill them quick if you really need to kill them (which I fail to see the point of, nature just makes more).
  7. Color setting - illustrator

This is the problem 98% of the time.
  8. Looking for Beer!

Bah, Canada has nothing on the American craft beer industry.
  9. Big Jobs or Little Jobs... or a mix

Another cluster bomb of small and medium runs today, people are starting to realize that this is all the summer we're going to get I think!
  10. Looking for Beer!

Sounds like something you need to create yourself. Find several stock photos of beer bottles at the right angle, a photo of the interior of a fridge (or one up it, take a shot of the interior of the actual fridge with a good camera) and assemble it.
  11. JV3-160SP Inconsistant ink problems...

One wash. You could make your own wash and pull it through the lines manually it'd save a lot of cash. We've had this issue before too, didn't think of cleaning the encoder sensor -- something to do this weekend. I also sometimes wonder if it's the Y adjustment being off just slightly enough to...
  12. Coozy Printing

Probably because Corel is pretty horrible at exporting quality EPS, half the time effects get rasterized out and people often don't have the raster effects dpi set very high. Hence, crappy quality file. Deal with that on a daily basis. Especially bad for gradients.
  13. Big Jobs or Little Jobs... or a mix

Last month slow, this month really busy with an annual event client and their event keeps getting bigger. Add in a lot of smaller jobs that came out of the woodwork. One or two normal big jobs mixed in. Last summer start out better, got a lot of downflow from the stimulus money but June is...
  14. Logo design from uk

After seeing that logo I couldn't tell you what the business name is. That's rather a problem.
  15. Ink drops

Whenever I get those a soft clean fixes it (usually just some built up ink or fuzz), if it doesn't change the dampers and the wiper.
  16. Best Business Cards EVER

I personally can't stand cards that aren't standard size (rounded corners fine, die cuts cool) and paper. Don't bulk up my wallet I don't need to get an embolism from sitting on your giant business card before I can get around to entering the info into my contacts database. Some good designs in...
  17. Buying our first home

You need to remove the idea from your head that a home is an investment. Don't even think about ROI only whether you think the value will hold (mostly depends on the area). You don't live in investment properties, you live in a home. A really good home inspection will pay it's value back in...
  18. Cool Vintage Photography Site

    Even better vintage photography
  19. cs5.5 is 10% off

I can't really imagine using less than CS4, 4+ has made leaps and bounds in non-destructive editing across the entire suite. CS5 has a boatload of Illustrator things, the primary tool most sign guys rely on and CS4 added multiple artboards and smart guides which are so primary in my working...
  20. what do you hate about your software?

Looks like you caught an old bit of mouseover programming. Place makes more sense than import but we've been over this in the thread already ;). Place is linked and non-destructive, import implies an embed. In any case...semantics. Weekend!
