  1. Tariff on Sign Blanks?

I wonder how many middle class and blue collar workers got that $4,000 pay raise Trump promised would come as a result of his corporate tax breaks? So far the only news I've heard is about stock buybacks and shareholders getting richer, but I could be wrong. I mean, it's not like this has been...
  2. Grommet machine

Hiker makes a great grommeter. Heavy duty, nearly indestructible. Stimpson also makes a good grommeter. Not as well made, but lighter and works really well. As long as you don't abuse it, it'll do you well.
  3. Who would have produced these for Trump??

They used to be located across the river in Louisville. I know of those guys.
  4. To use the www or not?

Dealing with that exact scenario right now.
  5. To use the www or not?

In all fairness there are reasons why there are warnings like, "don't put your pet in the microwave" on everything. People are dumb. Real dumb.
  6. Service contract renewal-Yay or Nay?

Service contracts are one of those things that you don't ever need when you have one, but wished you did have when your printer breaks and you don't have one.
  7. Question Cleaning acrylic for flatbed printing

The Novus plastic polishing compounds are pretty amazing too. I'm always shocked by what that stuff will fix.
  8. Need Help Wall graphics on UV printer

If you absolutely have to laminate, you can always use liquid laminate.

And architects. I've wanted to strangle more architects than I can count.
  10. Need Help Black shadow in perspective followed by a black outline

Sometimes it's kind of fun when you're just goofing around. If you're doing it for an actual job, it's always annoying for some reason. I also think it's neat how everybody does this slightly differently.
  11. Always get a signature...

I'd be inclined just to knock off the markup on the second banner and let him think you're cutting him a break (which, I guess would technically be a break, since he's getting it for cost).
  12. Question New and looking for advice

A good, inexpensive, and easy to use laminator is the Kala Mistral. Used one of those for a while and absolutely loved it.
  13. track saw in a sign shop?

Used that exact Festool track saw for years. One of the nicest tools I've ever used. You won't be disappointed. That being said, for cutting down material, just get a panel saw. The track saw is great for accuracy and a nice clean cut, but it's not nearly as efficient as a panel saw for cutting...
  14. Always get a signature...

You know, I've run into similar things over the years. On multiple occasions, customers have fessed up and said, "Hey, I messed up big time. Is there anything you can do to help me out so we don't have to replace this?" I will almost always try to help them out. Something small? I'll just...
  15. Found this plastic gear under my printer?

Yes, "entertainment" at its best.
  16. Found this plastic gear under my printer?

Hard to imagine why people find these forums less than helpful.
  17. Found this plastic gear under my printer?

ikarasu, don't bother arguing with bob. It'll just frustrate you and further inflate his ego. He's never wrong about anything, he's the almighty bob.
  18. Cold vs. Hot laminators

Heat assist is something that might come in handy from time to time. Unless you're doing encapsulation or something that requires a lot of heat, you don't need a hot laminator.
  19. Shop Music

You'd be surprised how many people listen to Run the Jewels and have no idea who Killer Mike is. "Oh, you like Run the Jewels? Yeah, Killer Mike is great." "Who?"
  20. Best banner for wrapping truss structure

Nah, looks good. Especially when you match your ties to the printed coro. I wish I could remember the name of the company that sets up the trusses for most of the major races in the southeast.
