  1. Businessing is Hard

We've lucked out in having a decent price facility and relatively low costs, as well as rebuilding all the equipment we run. But yeah, I am thinking that is by far the greatest issue we have. Now, I just need to figure out what we should focus on selling, the prints, or the printers.
  2. Businessing is Hard

Nah, being an autistic mofo has its perks, and one of the partners at the shop is ADD, makes a great mix. Sometimes knowing what's weird about yourself helps you lean into things that might be a benefit. Guess the trick is just finding some kind of sweet spot or working with someone who knows...
  3. Mimaki JFX200-2513 not powering back on after powering off the night before

See any red LEDs on in the back inside the electronics housing just behind the head carriage?
  4. Businessing is Hard

Nah, having no social life and being a crazy autistic bastard means I spend a lot of time reverse engineering stuff in general as I find it to be quite entertaining. The BOM on midsize printers from flatbeds to roll printers is getting stupid cheap, so I am just going along with that for now...
  5. Acrylic Varnish on Aqueous Canvas Prints?

I found airbrushing/sprays to work pretty well, easy to add in thin layers without soaking the piece.
  6. Businessing is Hard

Starting to learn that running a print shop that does more printer repair, refurb, and engineering is a tricky prospect. Set up shop mostly to do prints for the local weed industry and am learning just how flaky that can be. Some pretty good clients left who did the smart thing and avoided...
  7. JFX200 2513EX experience

I'm a technician and I run a failing print shop on a good day. I can tell ya the technical stuff, but I am definitely not the person for business advice. 2.5D printing takes a lot of time since it has to barf out a ton of ink to build up the texture. Also, AVOID USING PRIMER, since double clear...
  8. JFX200-2513EX Pressure control

I get to work on a lot of printers that other techs write off because they are 'unfixable' and are either being sold off for scrap, or for people who don't want to spend obscene amounts of money on what should be simple fixes. So, not too big of a surprise as almost nobody even knows of these...
  9. Third party DX4 printheads

About as refurbished as you're going to get for a sealed part. Lost of 'refurbished' heads are just flushed and poorly at that. Not really total rebuild kits or anything of course. Sometimes new manifolds are installed as well.
  10. Third party DX4 printheads

Lots of people mistook refurbished heads with aftermarket nozzle plates as some sort of counterfeit. That said, these days, it's just not economically to rebuild a head with such a process.
  11. Sub Tank Overfilling on UJF-6042 MKII

Could be a leaking ink supply valve (M015864 / M026750) if I were to take a guess on it. If getting pressure errors, not a bad idea to check your throttle valve.
  12. JFX200 2513EX experience

It's the same printer, just with double heads for color. 2.5D printing is cool, but it takes a hot minute. Functionally, the printers are identical and share a ton of parts, subtanks are different as well as a few minor things. Also shares a ton in common with the UCJV300 series. It's a small...
  13. Acrylic Varnish on Aqueous Canvas Prints?

Yeah, aqueous and sunlight will not play ball. Looks good for indoor stuff, especially if using 10 color high DPI art gallery type prints.
  14. Acrylic Varnish on Aqueous Canvas Prints?

I had very good luck with Krylon Workable Fixatif back when I was running Stylus Pro 9900 aqueous printers doing canvas prints.
  15. Best way to build a seamless sign for larger logo.

I was told there was going to be snacks. O_o
  16. JFX200-2513EX Pressure control

Filter tends to be low hanging fruit, good to keep those on hand anyways. But it could be the solenoid valves, or the throttle valve itself. Also seen silly things like loose subtank connections causing it. Anything in the system is suspect, but it surprises me how few people know the vacuum...
  17. Used set of mimaki inks for UJF 3042mkii for diagnostics

Best bet is to empty the ink you can using a syringe and get a couple of bottles of UV flush and can pour them in bit by bit to flush the machine. Colors will probably be fine, white ink is where the pain comes in.
  18. JFX200-2513EX Pressure control

Check the filter near the throttle valves, these can clog and cause issues.
  19. JFX 200 & LUS150 Inks

If there are local aftermarket ink dealers in your area, it might be better off switching brands to something that's drop shipped or doesn't spend months in storage.
