  1. Not sure if I'm using the correct terminology................................................................................

Nope. I did that on purpose. The word of the day was fallacious, cause like jb, I read it differently too...... and quickly got interested. Then, I saw it for what it was.
  2. Not sure if I'm using the correct terminology................................................................................

Why am I getting the feeling a spelling bee is coming up........... or a new thread for all of us to learn new words, their uses and meanings ??
  3. Not sure if I'm using the correct terminology................................................................................

There are many words which have meanings changing over time. Bad, gay, nice, quell, guy, flirt, wench, silly and the list goes on while we humans continue to play with words However, to me anything other then protecting your vehicles, decks, indoor/outdoor floors and furniture........ when...
  4. Not sure if I'm using the correct terminology................................................................................

That is not at all what I said or did. Any small decals, not worth using a rigid lam on, at least gets some liquid laminate on it via spray or roller, but usually spray at this size. Here are some reasons your dictionary style of going about things is worthless and why I still use the original...
  5. Not sure if I'm using the correct terminology................................................................................

Years ago, we used Dana. It was really good sh!t. Got it from the west coast before all the hazmat and crazy people started making it almost impossible to get/use. Tried Frog Juice with some success and we had several gallons of it. We had some at full strength, 30%, 50% and 75% for various...
  6. Not sure if I'm using the correct terminology................................................................................

Had a customer in here the other day picking up some small decals that he was gonna stick on windows, doors and inside walls. He came in a little early and I said, I only cleared these about 10 minutes ago, they still might be a little tacky. He asked why ?? I told him.... on things this...
  7. Best practice for cut vinyl ACM sign

Then, you need to cultivate a better grade of customers. Ya want word around town to be that your signs are cheap and don't last long, because no one has money ?? Signs of all kinds..... advertising in general, unless you're connected to a chain or franchise, is always at the bottom of the...
  8. Week of morons

When you do the math you told us, that 99% of your customers don't have a problem, that must mean only 1% are having troubles. With as many complaints as you come up with, you must have countless jobs going through your shop a day or even week. For a one-person shop..... it sounds hardly...
  9. Need Help Mounting help w/ PVC panels

Did ya ever consider doing it on 1/2" gatorboard ?? At that height, no one will ever notice a difference. I don't mean not telling them, but offering the substrate.
  10. Best practice for cut vinyl ACM sign

That's like asking which is heavier ?? A 14 pound bag of feathers or a 14 pound bowling ball. Was it a white car to begin with before being wrapped or some other color ??
  11. Best practice for cut vinyl ACM sign

For your second application, I'd use black substrate with the cast white die-cut vinyl. Not sure of your question, but if the base is black, it will heat up and get very hot and remain hot for a long time, while black vinyl or digital black will heat up, but not retain the heat near as much.
  12. Best practice for cut vinyl ACM sign

Never had any problems interior or exterior using painted acm, but for me, I'd get the white and lay a laminated print on the entire panel. When acm is painted, I always thought the finish was a baked on enamal finish, but either way, all vinyl will stick better to white, as it holds the least...
  13. Week of morons

Many of those things could be avoided with a more specific explanation of what you need, when and how. Seems communications are lacking and if they are first time customers, how or why would you expect them to know what you want. They're not mind-readers.
  14. How to Approach Window Film Installation

Do you have a bucket truck ?? Just boom yourself over to the window.
  15. cut Vinyl on an awning

Dac-tac is what we used to use. I don't know the modern day term for it. Lasts for years. Is it going on the skirt or the top ??
  16. Rate my very first sign

You will find in business as well as life, no one gives a rat's a$$ about your feelings or anybody else's. It's a dog eat dog world, especially in business and whether or not someone sugarcoats things really doesn't matter. Look for the message and not how it was presented sometimes helps...
  17. Installation Over Water

It's called a helicopter....... or a whirlybird if ya need more room.
  18. Rate my very first sign

He did say this is his first exterior sign, so what's the difference ?? Most of what many are saying are components of years of learning and/or working shoulder to shoulder with others that can teach. Time will tell what he can or cannot do. You can't cram everything down his throat on one...
