im getting some banding one some colors with a new (used) jv33. it seems it makes 3 passes then quickly stops at the capping station and im guessing fires some ink into the caps. i think this is where banding happens as it is very consistent. is that slight pause causing it and can i disable it?

i got a file i cant touch in a editor, so i must add bleeds in wasatch. i need no left bleed, and 1" right, top and bottom bleed. anyone have a solution for this? ive messed around in the setup box and got the side bleeds to show, and have the layout spacing to 2", however there is no cutline to...

im guessing its a problem with the head filling with ink. i had a similar problem tho it didnt happen as fast does the iq test print at the same speed and pass as the banner? you may not be doing a cleaning each banner but the printer still fills the head with ink. if its not forcing ink...

oh thank goodness im not sure if were gonna use triangle cartridges or use a bulk ink system with bags or tanks. tanks would be nice so i can share the ink with my jv5 there was considerable savings going from es3 to triangle inks, not sure of the exact figure thanks guys!

what is needed to do to the machine for this conversion? full line, damper and head flush? my boss said the triangle tech told him to just switch the cartridges and let the ink flush the lines but that just doesnt sound right to me, let alone the colors mixing and never being able to match them...

my boss will be attending. let me know if theres a guy walking around in a bud light bottle costume...

im having cyan overspray on a head. ive done all possible cleanings and they dont help. it goes away mostly if i print, but thats creates a lot of waste. heres the odd part, when i do a test draw where i spot replaced cyan with 100% cyan, i get no overspray. the only times i get the overspray is...

mimakis are tough, my jv5 was apparantly dropped from a moving truck when it was 1st bought (used) :covereyes:

so i am doing the manual slant adjustment with the screws and get the test draw to show the magneta and cyan lining up vertically and from what i can tell on top of each others dots. however, to the sides of the slant test draw strip to the right the magenta staggers off and the cyan staggers...

i had exact same problem and it was fixed with a new capping station (the gasket part)

its even worse when you get smooshed flys on the vinyl and print right over them. i heard stories of mice being in the media too! :omg:

we got everything spelled out clear as day with quotes & proofs and customers still sign off on them without reading the whole thing, then complain that they didnt know they had to read the whole thing :banghead:

on the bottom of the jv5 capping station are 2 hose connectors that go to 2 separate pumps. 1 is for the ink pumps and 1 is for the cleaning pumps. does the cleaning pump refer to the cleaning cartridge?

a while back on a mimaki jv5 i had some sketchy heads that to prevent dropout on huge banners i had to run at 24 pass instead of 12 pass, and do cleanings every 15' as far as passes go from what i can tell, a larger number pass uses more of the head to fire creating a bigger footprint, it...

i get that when i run duravinyl. i have to kick up the passes to minimize or eliminate it

as soon as the color washes out stop the printing and do a test draw to see if nozzles are out
