  1. Searching for an independent UV Printer Technician with CET experience

the CET FK512 that i had for a year had horrible cyan starvation issues. it was a factor in the failure of the partnership that i signed in on. i heard recently that despite the new owner's attempts that the printer still has the same issue and the recommendation was to refurb the whole...
  2. power problem JV3 160SP

this means the machine is in a dangerous state. there is a short somewhere, usually caused by wet ink on a board somewhere and the machine is attempting to protect itself. do not turn it on until you inspect for dripped ink on the boards (carriage, main, heads).
  3. Best place to contact to lease printers out of

leasing works when you have really loyal clients that have asked for too much product and the machine being leased will come in and save the day for several years while keeping cash in the bank for further marketing and expansion. a start up that is still feeling out it's product line...
  4. Printing on veneers

if the ink load is high, after curing the ink can shrink a bit and cause the sheet do concave in an arch.
  5. hi im chris, what was your biggest mistake?

until you figure that your printer would be run at 1-6 hours every single day, just sub out. if you have $5k burning a hole in your pocket, use that on building a market. printers don't make money, delivered projects do. no client, no project. biggest lesson is the same for me too. this is...
  6. Mimaki jv3 SPII 130 curciut board replacemnet configure help needed

i remember this issue being discussed and solved on the yahoo jv3 board. ...don't remember the menu option that does it. might check there if you don't get immediate solution.
  7. Has anyone any recommendations for suppliers from China for spare parts into the UK

digi-print supplies may be the biggest supplier. they have locations all over the world, based out of china.

  9. Limac laser VS big bands

you can see many different models on youtube. there's the occasional horror story. but, generally they look like they are very simple machines that are ready to do work. https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=chinese+laser+review
  10. Calibration (feed), what is "PET-G"? (SP300 Service manual 4-10)

i remember this phrase from way back with my old roland. i believe they are referring to the use of PETG as a printing substrate for doing the factory calibrations. the PETG gives the highest possible resolution/dot placement so that the tech can see the calibration patterns most clearly vs...
  11. Metallic Ink 100% wasted

you can do that but printers will make the OEM chip expire eventually. chipemulator.com can make you a pair of custom permanent chips for those channels. or at least he did for me a while back. actually just checked looks like that guy only does mimaki? anyway that's the general rule.
  12. Metallic Ink 100% wasted

just get a clear generic cart and fill it with straight butyl carbitol and you are good to go. using a "Roland OEM laboratory certified" cleaning cart is still an unnecessary waste of money. maybe on your rig, it will require a permanent chip too.
  13. Improve Print resolution

when i look at the results of these programs they don't look like much more than alternating between image size, median, and unsharp mask in several gradual steps.
  14. I've got a love/hate relationship with my Mimaki UJf-6042. Help me love her again?

one thing i saw in a tutorial that i thought was very odd. don't remember if i tried it (been years), most likely did. was that you would "shift/click" two entries in the rip??? this would cause, when set up correctly, both ripped images to print simultaneously. sorry, not much help. surely...
  15. I've got a love/hate relationship with my Mimaki UJf-6042. Help me love her again?

for me, white ink and rasterlink was always a breeze. but then i always sent the file as a .tif. perhaps you are sticking to this .eps rule too closely. there used be rasterlink white ink tutorial videos on the internet. haven't seen them for some time.
  16. Get Ink Out Of Air lines: CET Color Flatbed Printer

i'm not at all a guru with flatbed printers. i have one right now, had a CET fk512 previously. that's the disclaimer in case i am completely wrong here. this photo looks like ink pumps and negative air pump parts. air does not get into your lines at these points. the secondary tank has an...
  17. Get Ink Out Of Air lines: CET Color Flatbed Printer

generally lines from the secondary to the head can introduce air into the lines. are you getting air in all of them? or just one head keeps giving you issues? is there a thin layer of ink pooling at the bottom of any of the heads?
  18. low reserve flatbed printer on ebay

http://www.ebay.com/itm/131217818878?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 nice looking unit (manufactured in taiwan) on ebay. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZI_XcwMUFG8
  19. Our Companies First Product Video

looks like a ton of work was done to get it put together. as far as a critique. my main issue with it is it doesn't "pop". it's very gray, and dark, even with a dark background. it causes the product to seem somewhat dreary. why isn't the background rich blue or white or??? maybe you tried...
  20. New wrap for shop truck

the cube is good. (always like the cube with lots of negative space). sorry for the rant, it was a bit on the high satire side anyway. i'm getting out of the "bespoke" market for a while, deep pockets usually means big egos and lots of BS. it's taken me ten years in the custom only business...
