  2. Need Help Help with AXYZ Millenium Router

Are your com port settings 9600, 8, none, 1, hardware?.....or try 19200, 8, even, 1, hardware...make sure buffers in the advanced tab are set to lowest possible speed. I don't have experience with axyz but these older routers are very picky about cables and settings. Some cables work fine...
  3. Neon Signs Masterclass

It takes years of full time employment to become a proficient neon glass bender. Like Billct2 says...a bender used to start on the neon used for illuminated letters and such, rough stuff, until they become good enough to bend signs with bare glass. Those days are gone. These days everything...
  4. 6mm diebond machining tips

Climb cut with a single flute down cut bit, run as fast as you like...the 'chips' will be stuck to the waste material. I'd like to use a 6mm or 1/4" bit on 6mm Dibond.
  5. Need Help Considering a CNC Router

I think you can get off to a decent start with what you have purchased because it has already been up and running. The most valuable piece on the whole is experience. Nothing will replace just getting stuck into it and start cutting stuff. You will learn what will work and what won't work...
  6. black vinyl breaking glass?

I've had one window break, years ago, but it was with black paint, not vinyl. It was a band along the top of a window and broke an hour after I finished it. I wouldn't have believed it unless I saw it with my own eyes.

  8. Need Help Considering a CNC Router

Depending on what and how you are cutting, they can be earsplitting loud and sandstorm type dusty. The larger, the heavier and generally, the more expensive the cnc router, the quieter they run. A spindle will always be quieter than a router, under the same conditions. MDF is terribly dusty...

  10. Router Question

Sounds like you'll get on top off it. You mentioned cutting aluminium, look around for a mister or make one if the router doesn't already have one. It's not hard to put one together with a couple bits off ebay and an air hose. I use a piston driven micro mister now but used a conventional one...
  11. Router Question

Backlash adjustment for routers is more or less useless, it's more for laser engravers. You will have to physically remove the slop in the system or cut a lot slower producing inferior parts until you do. See if you can adjust the pinion to mesh in with the teeth of the rack better or replace...
  12. Router Question

looks like slop in the system, poor hold down..all your curves are output as arcs, your lines contain all the nodes.

  15. Need Help training for very new installation tech.

This is good advice. He needs to learn as much of the trade as possible to ensure his long term employment and prospects. He has to try and learn as much as he can about every facet of the industry. It is almost impossible to be an expert at everything in our trade, but he can try his best to...
  16. Building your own laminating table?

Sounds like a way to get a good table at a good price! Couple of thoughts... Our Rollsroller is led lighted but we rarely turn them on, unless doing a 2 layer backlit maybe, but even then it's no big deal. The guys usually prefer do the second layer wet anyway, so they can push and pull it...
  17. Building your own laminating table?

First of all, I can feel your frustration! I'm trying to think a way out of your dilemma. I could not understand why the glass would be so warped and bowed, but after reading this link I have a much better understanding. I cannot see that the chinese manufacturers would specify any extra...
  18. Epson GS6000 "PAPER ERROR - LOAD PAPER PROPERLY"

Do you have the media loaded too far to the right? There are divots on the front heater platen that indicate where to have material aligned. Move the media holders at back of machine to get media to align to the left of the divots or you will get that error message. Failing this, run a line...
  19. Cutting 1" acrylic

100 inch/minute, 1/4" ITC single flute upcut, 18000rpm, 3 passes. 60 inch/minute, 3/16" ITC single flute upcut, 18000rpm, 4 passes. I like to use only about 20 inch/minute plunge rate to save the tool tip. Edit your start points to minimise tool bit jams. Use dust/pressure foot and vacuum table...
  20. 1600mm Media

Prices are pretty similiar with others from my understanding. Have been using it since they introduced it, a few years now. Can't remember exactly. Switched over from using Avery, 3m and Oracal. Have had no failures using the matched laminates (clear). Forgot to mention that we only use the...
