  1. Busted the competition..

    Thanks for the laugh.
  2. Certified Checks

I'm glad to see it was an honest error instead of a (more) major hassle for you.
  3. Two Font ID's Please

    Beat me to it.
  4. Certified Checks

Sounds a lot like a scam. Even checks on a new account have account numbers on them. Hope you don't get burned.
  5. Some Recent HDU work....

Nice work. I'd forgotten all about the Yogi campgrounds.
  6. Something for us

    Nice.
  7. Knowing where you stand... I guess?

Interesting and valid points. I am a "lurker", I guess. I joined the site something like 8 years ago, but have only recently taken to offering what I can as far as commentary. Often I don't bother because the other comments are so... I don't know... snarky's as good a word as any. Everyone has...
  8. I Need Some Installation Advice!

Even with horizontal panels, I wouldn't really change my install method (i.e., whatever it is you do on rivets). Personally, the way I learned was to apply normally while making sure to leave a "bubble" around the rivets (don't squeegee all the way to them). Once the entire thing is applied, go...
  9. Knifeless tape and combinations...

    Exactly what I was thinking.
  10. Graphtec 48" CE5000-120 pauses during contour cut until USB cord is pulled

Could just be the USB cord has failed- or maybe has been bumped and come loose. It happens. I'd suggest making sure it's connected firmly. If it is, try a new cord.
  11. Graphtec FC8600 - damaging vinyl before every cut job

Sounds like your plotter may be getting a macro from somewhere that's running the test. I'd check the setup parameters in whatever program you're using to plot from and see if it's sending one, then just turn it off.
  12. New Olive Garden Logo...

I'm having a hard time separating my dislike of their food from the logo. The updated one is definitely more legible, but... yawn. As I believe someone else mentioned, it has a very "cookie cutter" feel.
  13. Help me pick a calendered wrap vinyl

I once wrapped a buddy's autocross car with a calendared Arlon. Five or so years later, they're still on the car, even though he's since sold it. The person who bought it asked me once about taking them off. I told her she needed a heat gun and a lot of time. And probably new paint afterwards...
  14. R.I.P. Mr. Parker.

http://www.fastcodesign.com/3027037/mike-parker-godfather-of-helvetica-dies Interesting piece on a man whose work we all know and probably use every day.
  15. Profiles for Cloud

I seem to recall it imported our profiles from the previous version. I'm not certain, but I'm pretty sure there was a "Wizard" somewhere in the Production Manager menus.
  16. Used box signs?

Tried this while working at a previous shop and had mixed results. We sold the signs "as is" at a very deep discount, customer responsible for pick up or shipping costs and constantly had to field questions about the condition of the signs (despite all pertinent info being displayed on the...
  17. Rivets Vs. Screws

Take 'em out- yes. Cover 'em with vinyl while they're out, though? Seems silly. If you're covering them, leave them on and muddle through. But, like most everyone else, I wouldn't bother trying to color them unless the customer's ridiculously picky. My question, though- why calendered vinyl? Is...
  18. When printer is not being used

I know our Mutoh won't run the entire cleaning cycle if the media lever isn't down, but I always leave it in the "middle" position so it's loose, though I do take the media out because it will do the entire cleaning cycle without media loaded.
  19. How can I stretch out banner better?

Every time I've run across this situation, my first reaction is of the "take it down" line. In reality, though, in most cases the customer can actually come after you for vandalism, theft or trespassing- even if they haven't paid for what you've provided. I wouldn't know how to handle the 50/50...
  20. Windows XP going away-Browser question.

Personally, I would try to go back to Chrome. It seems they update it constantly in an attempt to stay ahead of the folks who want to use it to steal from you. And I'd save up for a new computer. You can get pretty impressive ones inexpensively these days- particularly from Costco or direct from...
