None of the templates are perfect. They are all slightly off in different areas and you have to learn to design around the discrepancies. Always take real world measurements of areas that are critical to your design.

If your letters are large enough you can use a metal ruler to float all the letters to a consistent height. Partially instal the first and last letter then slip a ruler in there. It should be longer than text. Use it to INSTALL all the letters at a common height then slip it out.
If they're too...
I've had to lightly sand wall to create a tooth for vinyl to stick to. They putting lots of silicone and plasticizers into paints these days so they last and are cleanable. Not good for us sign guys
You know you have a problem when your trying to tape your graphic in position and the tape won't...
We had a problem with magenta like that on one printer. Only happened in the winter and after months of trouble shooting it came back to static. One head was more susceptible, don't know why. You could always try raising the humidity level in your print room. Our short term fix was a spray...
Roll it with the printed vinyl out or it may tunnel and you can use a large sonotube from your local hardware store. The bigger the better.

Bob, you are correct, that is not a shop minimum. His true shop minimum is $25.
His and my real point was that each process has a minimum based on all the steps it takes from taking the order to invoicing. And everyone should have a basic understanding what these are for all sign types. These...
This is a good for everyone to think about. I tend to be on bannertime's side, each process has a minimum and design and layout should be a separate issue. Too many clients can draw out that part of the process.
When I worked in a shop we had a board with 30 or 40 fonts divided by styles along...
Everyone should own one of these Triumph scrapers. Until you have one you'll never understand how sharp and thin the blades are. Use it to scrape the adhesive residue after removal, paint and residue from new construction...
A window guy taught me a trick, only scrape in one direction, pick up...
Heat assist can be a benefit but I would worry about the heat allowing the laminate to pre-stretch slightly then the decals will shrink on the vehicle.
Never had a problem with cold laminate on a decent laminator. The silvering will go away in a few days.
I have removed perf without lam that was several years old in Florida. Go to 44tools and get a triumph 6" scraper - 6" Triumph Soft Grip Scraper. They make several styles and get a pack of SS blades. If you can't peel it without it tearing into small pieces use the scraper and peel at the same...
Save the core and use it over and over. The exposed adhesive from the last one makes it easier to attach the second. We used 1/2" dowels for smaller pieces like 18" x 18".

I know someone at all of these companies and any one of them can handle anything you can throw at them.
Our local distributer had one day the trucks aren't used. Been a while but I think it is Tuesday. If they have a day during a week that they aren't used it will simplify things. No pressure or waiting on trucks to come back in.
I always plan on wasting time trying catching up to the last few...
At that size you're not going to get very good wholesale pricing. The quantity is low and there is a lot of waste. You would probably get charged the same amount for an 8' x 12.5' graphic.
Avery will save you a buck or to and it is easier to install than any other brand. It is also thinner and more conformable then any of the other brands.
3M is hit or miss on how aggressive the adhesive is even with latex printers.
