  1. Roland Metallic? If you have it, do you use it??

We have an XR with the lk and metallic. The metallic silver looks nice when printed just straight metallic. And many of the lighter metallic spot colors look nice as well. In order to really get the metallic to pop more, it's needs to just be used as like accent colors that go next to almost...
  2. Having problems with 3M180C V3 PLEASE HELP

The small one on those channels
  3. Having problems with 3M180C V3 PLEASE HELP

Warm the vinyl and push into the channel. Then with a heat gun and thermometer, heat vinyl to around 200 degrees. Use a 3m roller, and roll the channel breaking the memory and wetting out the adhesive. Should stay down just fine. Keep the heat gun moving, don't just hold in one spot to...
  4. Huge Wall Wrap Scaling/DPI Settings

72 dpi is fine for upclose viewing unless you are using very small text, which I doubt you are doing on such a large area. But you cannot enlarge it once you import it into the actual size document. So as per my previous post, if you make the document those dimensions, when you import the...
  5. Huge Wall Wrap Scaling/DPI Settings

I think your asking for the wall dimension at 1/10th? If so, it would be 15 x 93.6 @ 720 ppi. But unless you plan on stretching and distorting the image, you will need to duplicate and mirror it just over 4 times, not twice.
  6. Newbie need help printing (Picture inside)

As Pat said, check that test print. If you have some lines that are missing you have some nozzles clogged up, if you have some out of place then you have some deflection. If it was my printer, I would do the alignment and make sure that was fine first. I think it is in the submenu on the...
  7. Hardhat label

While as per previous comments, it is frowned upon. We have done many with Arlon DPF 8000. Super aggressive adhesive and stays on very well.
  8. Green Tint in a Black to White Screen.....Help

What software are you using? Try setting up more points of color along the gradient instead of just going from black to white. Profiling could be issue as well.
  9. Trying to identify metal post and locate supplier

Looks like just some aluminum angle or u-channel with holes milled out. I don't think it's premade with those holes, but I could be wrong.
  10. how to change default icc profile in versaworks

Double click on the folder a or b by the printer image a over your queue and select the profile you want. That will be your default for that queue.
  11. Anybody print coffee mugs to the trade?

Not sure how competitive their pricing is, but zoo printing just started selling promotional items such as coffee mugs. Might check them out.
  12. Vinyl on a smoker?

It should work fine. I have a large insulated smoker, and he is right it, it hardly even gets warm. A car hood in the summer is much hotter! Only area that even gets somewhat hot is around the actual firebox.
  13. Roland Disappointment XR-640

I will say we have had more head strikes with our 640 than we do 540, but we have not run into the amount of problems you have had Josh. We have had our since they came out, and it has run really well. We run full rolls a lot of times, and do run all night sometimes as well. We had a big...
  14. Can I please get some help with this font!

I am at a loss, does someone know what font this is? Thanks in advance!
  15. Outside temps

80-85 is about the highest we do, but that's 80 in the shade. That's better than 70 in direct sun anyday to me
  16. Printing on colored wrap film...

How about trying to hit that red better if that is the main problem. I am assuming you are using spot colors. Once you assign the spot color red (maybe pr43k) try adjusting the cyan level inside of versaworks in the file setup tab. You can get a much better red that way. Bump it up from 0...
  17. What would you do?

Doesn't look like to much red from the pic of the van. How about having him approve a red, and overlaying just the red and leave the rest of the wrap. Might be a quick fix with minimal loss
  18. XR owners

We have a XR, and love it. We didn't get the Roland heater, but do have aftermarket heaters on all of our printers. We don't print high speed, but still helps a lot when using the take up roller. When we print heavy ink, we put 2 dryers on it. I'm not sure with the white and print speeds...
  19. I just made the biggest blunder one could make on a full wrap for a full size van

If it's just the three panels, just reprint the middle as player said. And also as others have said, 1.5" overlap is way to big, cut it back to no more than 3/4" and roll with it. Don't worry about the front facing seam, only way you could even possibly have an issue is if they use those car...
