  1. Laminator Poll

We have a Seal 62 base, don't regret the purchase one bit. We previously had a royal sovereign and our seal is above and beyond the RS. We do a lot of boat wraps, so 30+ feet in a single image is very common, it was always a finger crossing moment using the RS. Now, we don't worry one bit...
  2. Re-640

What material are you printing on?
  3. Enclosed trailer wrap question

You take all the rivets out when using a cast film? That sounds like an incredible waste of time. I can see if doing like some calenered 651 lettering or something, but on a full wrap, seems like going over them is pretty standard practice now.
  4. Hanging Foamcore

Image One Impact has some hanging solutions for foam core as well.
  5. 3M Visual Attention Service or other similar software

I was thinking more not for us to use for our designs, but more for customers to show them how there design will be viewed, or when your trying to get a new customer who has real busy designs. Could offer as a service, then follow up with a we can redesign and make it more appealing. All just...
  6. gallery wrap materials

What is gallery wrap? Like a gallery wrapped canvas print?
  7. 3M Visual Attention Service or other similar software

Has anyone used 3m's VAS software? It is very expensive, but I think the idea is great for showing customers how the mojority of people view there signage, wraps, flyers, etc. I think it could also help in getting new customers, by showing how there current designs currently do not highlight...
  8. Computer Power Required for Versaworks & XR-640

Yes, the computer you listed in you OP should work fine to get you started with your designing. My suggestion would be to get you a small network hard drive to store your files on, and another computer that will just run VW. You can just pull the files off that network storage device, and rip...
  9. Type of Roland Media for Wallpaper

Andrew's suggestion with the Roland media works great. I have heard good things about it, my only question for also and concern for you would be I don't think that fabric can be laminated, can it? If not, cleaning can be an issue if someone scrubs it to hard or uses any chemicals on it. The...
  10. Computer Power Required for Versaworks & XR-640

My biggest suggestion would be to use that computer for your design work, and another for ripping and printing. The rip computer doesn't have to be quite as powerful. The biggest reason for this would be opening large files or doing some large memory jobs and the printer running. It can pause...
  11. Flexi and Versaworks

Just reread your thread. You didn't remove all the old VW files if they were still in your queue when you reinstalled VW. There was still files left in temp folders that store the queue files. I forget exactly where they are stored at, if I was at work I could tell you. Sorry. But I would...
  12. Flexi and Versaworks

Possibly try reinitializing VW first, but you will lose the files in your queue. You could also try importing them into VW a different way, drag and drop or simply opening in VW instead of dropping them into the folder through flexi. I don't think that will help, but doesn't hurt to try. Also...
  13. Chrome wrap vinyls - Which one?

Which one had the worse orange peel? The hexis or the avery?
  14. Poll: Are you printing CMYK, or RGB files from Versaworks?

Kentucky Wraps, somewhat, basically your eyes and monitor can show tens of millions of color, but all those colors are not reproducible by our printers. We are limited to much less of a printable color gamut than can be seen. If you have a spectrophotometer that will calibrate your monitor to...
  15. Poll: Are you printing CMYK, or RGB files from Versaworks?

Also being a Roland owner, check out there webinars on this subject, they are free for roland owners, and explain a lot of this and how to linearize and profile you printer.
  16. Poll: Are you printing CMYK, or RGB files from Versaworks?

Designing in RGB will give you a larger color gamut. The best would be Adobe 1998 color setting and RGB. Even thought your printer is a CMYK, with today's inks, you can print more colors and more vibrant colors than designing in CMYK. Versaworks will then convert it to be printed. You should...
  17. Sign Boot Feedback Wanted

Looks like it could be a cool product. Do you offer any lower pricing for a sample to try out?
  18. who makes this wrap material

Haakon is right, it is the Hexis HX30BPEB. I have a sample of it here that I'm looking at. There is also the HX30RDIB which has more of the purplish pearl in it.
  19. who makes this wrap material

Looks like a hexis one. I've got a sample of it at my shop. When I get there I'll get you the exact color name. It has a hint of purple in it when the light hits it just right.
