I just took in a a cool job of seven labels 500 each, customer supplied art (pdf files).
After setting first label up in flexi and adding two sets of cut lines then sending to print, it took about five minutes before reaching printer.
Hmmmmmmmm never happened before.
I called customer and...
Yes.
Cut way to early.
I have found when running large solids on solvent printers the ink and heat softens the vinyl, so it need extra time to cure (out gas) especially when cutting into the bleed.
This same thing happened to me while using QuarkXPress. It would not open after my Mac did an update.
To fix this, I took this Mac offline and changed the date back five years and the program runs perfect again.
Alot of programs have a expiration date (8 to 10 years) then they shut down. By...
I too have been using 99% Alcohol on all of my rubber.
From the rollers on my sheet fed presses, pinch rollers on the graphtec, Royal Sovereign laminator rollers and the Vaccum mat on the flat bed graphtec cutter. I have Never had any problems with it drying the rubber out.
I have the XR-640 and its the Cats Meow. I print a 100' roll of 6 mill every day on in it, then the next day while printing the next roll i'm cutting the 1st roll on the Graphtec 160 cutter. A great combo.
I own some rental property and I get daliy calls from so called investors that want to buy my property.
I tell them somebody knocked on my door and made me an offer, half on the books and half in cash and I can keep the rental income for the next eight months. They all say thats illegal and you...
This is how I do it in flexi, weather it is an individual job or multiples.
Set up design with two cuts.
1st cut is the kiss cut the 2nd is the final cut.
Print job, next day I set up job on cutter, open job in production manager, shut off final cut and just send the 1st cut through. After 1st...
General Formulations 220. 6mill.
Comes in a 54" x 100' roll for under$150.
If it's indoors your inks should last three years with out laminate.
I use 12 to 15 rolls per week with no problems.
Check pressure on all pinch rollers, one or more could be worn and not applying enough pressure to track evenly. They should all be the same or it will start to skew the media you are cutting.
