Ahh... I didn't see anything earlier saying that the purge was a lighter stream than the other colors. The only "pump" that I'm aware of is the motor I mentioned earlier, so your further explanation makes that even more of a suspect to me.
I still think your issue lies in the ink cabinet area, not up with the head. Possibly the motor that drives the ink from the bottle to the tank (it's under the C sticker below the torpedo filter). I get the low warnings often when purging too so I agree that you've got no air in the lines to the...
I get it router cut and then overlay with vinyl. Kind of a PITA to get lined up but that's normal for something like this. Then put a strip down the backside to help hold it together. PVC glue if you need extra stability.
not familiar with Roland but does it pull from both tanks at the same time? ie: it's not setup as a rollover system where it pulls from one tank when it other is empty. If you replace the empty tanks, you'll probably find out quickly if that's the issue.
Have not experienced this issue but it sounds like the ink tank is not refilling properly and it's running out mid-print. Maybe some garbage in the lines between the tank and the bottle? Something is not pushing enough ink to keep up w/ the ink demand. I was thinking possibly it could be...
I'm nearly positive there was a IJ180 profile in the online library. I know I downloaded something to start from. Yes runs fine, stinks good. :) If I can avoid head strikes, my heads last 4L+.
sounds like your optimizer's not curing... more heat/more passes yes. I run IJ35 at 110%., 16pass, 212F and I'll still occasionally get uncured ink on the lead edge on the first print.
Usually I'll do a perf cut on the liner and tear em on the perf. If it's a large quanity, I'll perf cut in sheets that I can fit in my guillotine and final cut over there.
almost positive all upgrades within version 12 are free. Should be able to grab the updates from Onyx's website. (you do need to be logged in to myonyx)

I need to pick up a roll of reflective for a small job and the 15" rolls only come perfed. How much material do I lose to the sprocket holes? The piece I'm printing is exactly 15" but I can hide the holes in the frame if they're not too far in.
The Canon and HP listed are both pretty old machines... and like SignMeUp said, they're both aqueous so outdoor stuff would 100% need to be laminated to last. Might be able to find a cheap ValueJet or latex machine that'd be more suitable for you.
