  1. A day in the life of a designer

So, you're also a project manager and production manager. Yes, you're being taken advantage of. Designers design and may occasionally lend a hand with production if there is nothing else on their plate. At least the way I see it.
  2. Removing old cracked vinyl wrap from trailer

    Hot water pressure washer
  3. Need Help Ever run into this......................... ??

I would have asked where they were going and asked if they needed any special considerations. Not your fault that they did testing on them - they didn't let you know.
  4. Suggestions Decals, I want to know each and everything about it.

Decals are what you buy off of eBay with the peeing Calvins. Vinyl graphics are what professionals install.
  5. Gold Leaf Pricing

You can clear over the gold with automotive urethane. It will protect the surface from scratches, at least a little bit. BUT.. you have to do some pre-prep to do that. Any pinstriping will have to be urethane compatible, or it will lift. Your gild sizing will also have to be urethane compatible...
  6. Transparent silver metallic vinyl?

yeah.. I'm not sure that a translucent is going to work over a reflective backer. I have some pretty thin silvers here, nothing really "works".
  7. Transparent silver metallic vinyl?

Yeah, one of those. I get more and more requests for ghost graphics on silver vehicles and the departments don't want white. I can print a tinted grey and make it somewhat ok, but I'm looking for other options. I've never seen a true transparent grey or silver, but that doesn't mean it isn't out...
  8. Looking for a specific Aluminum post and cap

Posts you can get at any metal supplier. That cap looks like a Fypon product or something similar - it doesn't look like a cast aluminum finial.
  9. VJ1324 Mutoh Carriage Noise when moving/printing Left and Right

Track shouldn't be clean - you should have a light coating of grease on it and the bearing.
  10. PVC post sleeves without posts?

2' in the ground minimum. You'll be fine with a sleeve and 3mm MaxMetal. Any thicker than that I would put some sort of wood inside, even if it was a 2x4. Did the same thing all the time for new developments around here years ago.. and never had an issue.
  11. What's this piece???

:-) I don't even have those on my brand new 1204 head. Don't worry about it - get rid of them. One more thing to grab and hold ink and misc fuzz...
  12. Printer dropping ink where it should not

Check for fuzz on the underside of the head, especially in any gaps. My Mutoh will do that - there are 2 very small gaps on either side of the head that tend to gather lint for some reason. It acts like a sponge and when it gets saturated, ink starts to drop when the head changes direction. Have...
  13. Painting On 3M Reflective 680CR

Nazdar plastic ink, thinned. Or automotive 2 part urethane enamel.
  14. Bar Epoxy Clearcoat on HDU signs?

You don't clearcoat your signs if you are using acrylics. When I build mine, I use an automotive based primer, 2 part color coat and a 2 part clear. May people don't like the glossy look, but there are flat clears out there, too. If you don't feel comfortable either (a) paying to do it with 2...
  15. 3D Raised Decals

Injection molded. Is it hard or rubbery feeling?
  16. Question Valuejet 1204ga longstore??

Nothing ventured.. get the ink carts, plug it in and see if it'll draw the ink down. At best, the PO stored it right and it'll start right up. At worst it might need a head and capping station. I love my 1204.. does everything I ask of it.
  17. And another.. simples, but yet

It's close, but not quite. The original image also isn't italicized, just looks that way.
  18. And another.. simples, but yet

Find my font, Fontquirrel and others can't match it, but I've seen it... As always, thanks in advance1
  19. PVC Sign Blank

Scroll saw and a vinyl pattern. Job done.
  20. How high can I install an aluminium sign?

No reason at all you can't install aluminum that high. Skyscrapers have aluminum on them. As long as it's secure to the wall, why not? I'm not quite following your terminology with 'stretched' and 'coach screws' though..
