  3. Can't get my HP 315 to print a solid black.....

If you know the characteristic of your printer then setting output values is the best way to get the black you want and to help nail high gamut spot colors. Why monkey with your input file? Make a new color library or save your setting in your spot color libraries then you don't have to do color...

Since I had some SAV loaded (GF 201) and the black test squares file was still in the RIP I thought I would test this again. 12pass Ink Density 120. Used the three values posted on this thread plus 100% K only set as output values the other values remain as various builds on rich black input...
  6. Can't get my HP 315 to print a solid black.....

Input or output? In all the test I have done with output values 100% K was better looking than any value with the other inks added.

  8. Can't get my HP 315 to print a solid black.....

What RIP are you using? Does it have the ability to replace colors so that your printing 100% printer black only with no CM involved? How does the 100% black of your calibration target look? That is the darkest black your Latex will print. Don't try the rich black as posted above. That is...

  10. Question Caldera Rip V11.2

Maybe you need to check your network. Especially your router, do you have the Printers IP address and the RIP computers IP reserved. And it is a good idea to set a static IP address in your printer. Look at the physical connections as well. Test them to see if they are good. Are you running...
  11. Question Caldera Rip V11.2

Given that it is not a Windows OS the first place I would look is at a hardware error. Bad RAM or storage devices, then network components.

Same issues were on the 360 also.
  13. Estimate forms

Why a subscription? Look at something like Morning Flight http://www.printfire.com/index.html for estimating, no subscription needed. Combine that with a accounting package like Quickbooks where you can enter everything only once and use various (user createable) forms for each stage of the process.
  14. Upgrade from HP 360 to 560

So they still haven't put the media path sensor in the 560 between the head and the left side like the L25500 and L26500 had. And still one one lc/lm head in the 560 which under certain circumstances causes ink starvation which leads to color consistency problems. I am hopping to see these back...
  15. Upgrade from HP 360 to 560

I thought they have updated the firmware on the 360's to match the 560's in this regard, tiling media preset, etc. I would think the 560's would need constant re-calibration just like the 360's do to achieve color stability when reprinting adjacent panels, as well as a constant environment...
  16. HP 26500 Idle?

When I had the L25500 I did both depending on how frequently I used it. I don't think it matters either way, non that I could tell.

  20. Question HP Latex 360 - Firmware update package is corrupted - I have NEXUS_00_06_02.10

That may be the case but it is probably best to call tech support and ask if you can go from NEXUS_00_06_02.10 to NEXUS_01_14_00.5? If not they can probably tell you the link to download older firmware. I checked my folder of firmware and here is what I have listed. NEXUS_00_06_02.12...
