Which latex do you have? If it is the 360, I made my own profiles and had the ink limit at 110-120. The colors come out great. I like using pantones to get good reds. Usually 186.
I thought it was skewed too, mainly comparing a printer/cutter versus a separate print and cut setup. Of course an all in one unit is cheaper, but didn't they say the production was faster? I found it way slower for myself and would never go back to an all in one. The other thing I thought of...
I was running (2) L260's for a while, now have (1) L360 and (1) new Epson S70. When I was running the 2 260's, my electric bill didn't vary much then, maybe $30 per month. The nice part was that my biggest gas bill was like $30. My shop is small too, so both of them running kept it warm. :) It...
There's no need to laminate as that is what the clear coat is for. That'll just make it thicker and take more coats of clear to burry the lines. I would just use a good thin cast vinyl.
That would take a TON of ink usage to make up for the $7k difference. If I remember right when I checked, the 3 liter boxes ended up like 5¢ per ml cheaper.

ill either squat down or take a knee when...
What printer do you have?
I run a VERY opaque adhesive film from Ritrama through my L360. It is designed for UV, but I found it works great in the latex. I will print one reversed on clear then line up the one printed on the Ritrama. The Ritrama film has a white adhesive and is nearly 100%...
