  3. Reg marks printing problem..shifted to the left of center, past pinch roller..HELP

Your encoder strip is dirty or damaged if the image shifts to the left as your facing the printer. I would clean it gently with a microfiber cloth. If that doesnt work the encoder strip is two sided and you can flip it over.

  7. Roland SP-540i Magenta Problem

I think I remember our printer doing some like that for the first foot or so of the print in high speed mode. Does it continue after a foot or so? Does it do it if you pull out a foot of material before you start printing? The banding I see really looks like a media feed or buckling problem and...
  8. Roland SP-540i Magenta Problem

The light and dark areas aren't consistent in the direction of the print head. The the media is moving while it is printing or the ink isn't curing fast enough. My guess is your heater settings need to be raised or lowered. Try running all your heaters at 30 to 35 and make the print head go the...
  9. How to politely ask for deposit before any work is started?

It is a mind set. Once you feel confident in your abilities, and enough customers take your designs to your competitors you won't feel guilty asking for a deposit. But, there are certain things you have to satisfy before you can ask for a deposit or it feels like a trap to the customer. Your...

Dirty or damaged encoder strip. You can turn them over because they are two sided. Your service rep should be able to confirm this over the phone and send instructions.
  11. Faint Magenta Ghosting.. Any ideas

My guess is static as well. Used to have this problem every time we printed black banners with white text and magenta was the only color that would bleed. We would put water in a spray bottle and misted around, not on, the printer and stopped the banner print every 2 feet. When it stopped the...

  16. Eco-Solvent Durability For Outdoor Use

We printed some small decals when Roland's Eco sol max came out and installed it to our dumpster. It was installed on a vertical surface so it didn't get sun all day and looked good years later. We chose to laminated everything for several reasons. 1. cast vinyl is difficult to install...

A lot of suppliers will cut down the material for you and if they make a mistake you don't pay for it.

I have better luck using RGB for gradients. CMYK always gets muddy in the middle. It might just be Corel's color engine?
