Lots of them on the market. Best to do a Google search to narrow the range. Then talk to a rep for the ones that fit your business model. After that go to a show(when we can do that again) and run your files.
I've been known to work for food/beverages. Ya gotta eat and it beats having to go to the store buy groceries then have to prepare the meal. Oh yeah, no clean up either.
If you are focusing solely on "stickers" and doing tens of thousands or more per month get a dedicated label press.
No way in the world a print/cut will ever keep up. A good label press will be fully automated from printing to cutting to stripping and take up. Hands off, lights out.
Rigs with...
Let me know what you find out and end up doing. I think this may be a go to for high abuse rigs. More money to be sure but you won't worry about a call back in two months.
BTW If you go with clear test some prints to make sure the materials are compatible.
My two cents. I make door graphics for a fleet of dump trucks, semis, mixers you name it. I print then cut. No laminate. Graphics get applied then buried in high solids clear specific to heavy equipment. Client says it's the only thing that tolerates the abuse and constant pressure washing...
Had a large headstrike(six inches plus) with my 1624x. Would hardly print afterwards. Back to back long cleans took care of it. Used quite a bit of ink but cheap compared to replacing the head.
Just remembered, after I started printing again it barfed magenta on a couple prints then cleared...
Einstein Graphic Services. They have the process dialed in and can get you set up. https://einsteings.com/hydrographic/
I don't do hydrographic but bought my Mutoh from them. Top notch crew all the way.
To those that thought my response was hilarious. It is not and wasn't intended to be. Context of the conversation was regarding the safety of methanol and its suitability as a cleaner.
Cut vinyl. Work to the rivets and leave them tented. Once all vinyl is down go back and shrink rivets with a torch, squeegee then rivet brush(the really stiff one from 3M) Used to do a lot of trailers way back when and that was our method.
We had a per rivet up charge on the quote too.
Hmmm...been around enough methanol burning race vehicles and haven't had any issues. Like any chemical you just have to be smart.
If I'm working with chemicals I'm wearing nitrile gloves.
Possible the head is bad, but it does look like its trying to fire. Bad signal to the head will cause streaks/misfires. Maybe VanderJ will pop in and help. I'm just basing my opinions on what I did with my SP540V.
Just got back from Costco with a "bale" of paper towels. Pallets of them although you're only allowed one. Same with TP. What's nonexistent are disinfectant wipes. Costco, Sam's, Piggly Wiggly etc...haven't had them for weeks. 90% isopropyl alcohol is the same. Wonder if I could use methanol?
Like others we have flat rates for popular items. Estimate is used for most things though. Lately it is pen and paper which gets turned into a quote with QuickBooks. I like the pen and paper stuff because it forces me to think completely through the job. Easy to burn yourself pushing buttons.;)
Haven't tried it but I'm interested in this application. Industrial strength Velcro is available that will stick to anything. Problem would be removal from the wall.
