James McGill is excellent tech and also a very nice guy.
I live on the West Coast of Florida and I contacted James to fix my Roland Printer. I found out that he comes to Florida and services many printers while he is down this way.
He lives in Paducah, KY. but he travels through many different...
Thanks you for your reply:
I had a memory lapse and then I remembered exactly how to do it.
I entered service mode and did a test print and saw exactly what the problem was and made one adjustment and the printer is working perfectly again.
At 71 years old changing heads every few years makes...
Correct! Now there are a few tricks to do this and I will explain.
Always turn your printer off and unplug the power and then turn the on and off switch on and off a few times.
First make sure you purchase the correct size fuse and also buy a few of them so if it ever happens again you have...
When the fuse for the head blew on my SP-300V I went to the auto parts store and purchased an inline fuse holder and soldered and put some solder on each end of the wire and then held each end one at a time to each end of the fuse. Once you have the solder on the wire itself then simply touch...
Are you trying to test the fuses to see if they are blown?
The fuses are very very tiny and you might need a magnifying glass to see them.
When I blew a head fuse I decided to go to the auto parts store and I purchases an inline fuse holder and then put a small of amount of solder on the wire...
I have replaced the cap tops a few times now and the problem I am having is kind of a weird one.
I now have both print heads printing but it is only the magenta and black that are printing. I tried a few medium cleaning but each time I do that the cap tops are full to the top and going over...
VanderJ:
I took the pump back out and check everything to make sure it was in correctly and other then realigning the brass gear on the motor shaft everything look right.
I am thinking that brass gear was just not meshing correctly with the pump gear.
When I tried it the motor was pushing...
VanderJ:
When I connect my syringe to the tube for each cap top I can pull the ink through fine and the lines fill up with ink but once I do a test print the pump is not pulling the ink through the lines or draining. The drain tank is empty.
It seems to me the pump is pushing the ink back to...
VanderJ:
I have now replaced all of the plastic tube lines from the cap tops to the drain hose and yet I have nothing coming out of the drain hose. I am using clear hose so that I can see if it is draining.
I put cleaning solution into each plastic fitting until it was running out each end of...
VanderJ:
Thanks for your reply.
I forgot to mention that I also changed both caps tops before installing the New print head.
I will check the drain line from the pump is see if it might be clogged.
I did notice that the brand new cap top for the magenta and yellow color had black ink on it so...
Changed print head and installed with no problem.
I also put cleaning solution on the head first following the directions that came with the head.
I have not yet done all the adjustments to the head because when I tried a test print first nothing printer or I should say very little printed...
When I blew a fuse whiling changing a head I went to an auto parts store and purchased an inline fuse and then soldered it on the motherboard which was not easy to do but if that fuse ever blows again it is an easy fix.
I know Roland does not like to see this but my printer has been out of...
Not sure where you are located but I do know a tech that is reasonable and good and he works on Roland Printers
His name is James McGill and his phone number is 270-243-0599 and he lives in Paducah, Ky. but he services printers from the mid west all the way down to Florida where I live. This guy...
Here is another tip for you when you are trying to enter the service mode.
Use two people one who to hits the up, down, right, and left and have the other person simply hit enter when you tell them to and remember it only blinks once or twice so with one person doing it is very easy not to see...
I have used Digi Print heads and I only paid $522.50 and they worked perfectly with no problems.
My Roland Dealer was not happy when I told him I had changed the heads and he started telling me that they were not the same as Roland Heads which I knew was not true but I was not sure if he even...
I also had the exact same problems with my SP-300 only being able to run using XP
I converted my SP-300 to an SP-300V which then allows you to run windows 7 through 10
It's not hard to do but you will need to purchase a copy of VersaWorks software which you can find on E-Bay
The only reason I...
