I love both of mine! The only reason I think my electric bill is up is because I run these easily twice as much as I did my Roland. Plus, my gas bill is very cheap during the winter! Oddly as it sounds, I didn't notice much difference in bills during the summer with the AC running. Go figure.
I have a HP latex and just went with the 54" model. I can think of once it the entire time I have had it that a 64" model would have made it a little more convenient. I still made it work without it too. Unless you have a specific need for it, I wouldn't spend the extra money.
I do however...
You must have the L280, 104" model. The L260, 61", doesn't take 3-phase.
mine came with the round plugs too. Those aren't European, they are for if you have your connection hanging from the ceiling.
Where I bought my HP latex printers from said they have a Mimaki latex sitting in the corner that neither them, nor Mimaki, can get working properly. They said they don't really know of anyone using them or having luck with them. It'll be interesting to see how the new one with orange and green...
I too run my Caldera on a Mac mini. Mine actually came all setup on a Mac mini. I haven't had any problems. I'm sure a faster computer would help a little, but haven't had the need to try.
When I bought my copy of Caldera Visual RIP+, it came all loaded and ready to go on a new Mac Mini. That option cost a whopping $1. Yes, I got it setup on a new mac mini for $1. It has worked great the whole time! Like ProWraps said, their tech support is awesome too!
For MK#3, I paid to have mine done, came to like $450 installed.
You can buy it at www.hpparts.com
The part number is: CH956-67044
I am not sure about #1 and #2.
There is a big difference, hense the price. I started with the D and upgraded to to s class t series. It was well worth the money. Faster, more accurate, etc.
I have had good luck with my Solvex and Ultraflex on my old L25 and my new L260. The only thing I have to remember on some medias is to leave a big enough leader hanging out the front. If I try to save media, it would curl up and cause a jam. Otherwise it works great.
I love my 24HD!! I can't stand working without it now. I am a Mac guy, so I am not so crazy about the Windows8 part. But I am definitely gonna check it out!
