  1. Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays?

:goodpost: :goodpost: :goodpost: :goodpost: What they said! Festivus for the rest of us!
  2. Poll: Are you printing CMYK, or RGB files from Versaworks?

Yes. It's a part of our sketch disclaimer. I tell them in person too. Heck when you are standing looking down at my monitor the colors look one way and when you sit in my chair it looks another. It helps to present yourself as the expert on the subject and avoid getting into a situation where...
  3. Poll: Are you printing CMYK, or RGB files from Versaworks?

Found it: These are the CMYK equivalents to RGB printed side by side on the same printer using the same software. Look at the gradients.
  4. Poll: Are you printing CMYK, or RGB files from Versaworks?

We print RGB. We get some real nice colors on our VersaCamm. I like the bright greens you can get with RGB, I like the bright blues you can get, same goes for reds. I also think certain gradients look nicer. For example red to black gradient in CMYK looks like red to grayish-brown to black...

  6. New windows update causes problems with fonts

The weird thing is when we restarted after uninstalling the update in question, then attempted to hide KB2753842, as suggested by others, KB2753842 was nowhere to be found. SO I couldn't hide it. I wonder if MS took down the update so it doesn't accidentally install on systems that haven't been...
  7. New windows update causes problems with fonts

Oops noticed someone else posted this under the flexi forum of this site. It effects more than just flexi, so if you are having font problems in any program check to see if this is the issue.
  8. font not working in illustrator

It could be a windows update issue. I just posted a topic about it here: http://signs101.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=101831
  9. New windows update causes problems with fonts

If you have been using Corel, Quark, I think some Adobe programs, and I've heard some MS programs too, and you have noticed that some of your fonts aren't displaying properly, it's most likely due to the newest Windows Update. Here are a few links explaining it...
  10. IL Conceal & Carry

I'm allergic to gun shot wounds.
  11. IL Conceal & Carry

    You think this would work?
  12. IL Conceal & Carry

Exacto knife is not designed to kill, and is not as efficient at killing, and even though I also "worry" about people with exacto knives, (trust me, my old boss dropped one on my leg one time.:omg:) I worry less about them because it's less likely I get taking out by one. If a person makes a...
  13. IL Conceal & Carry

I'm all for the right to bear arms, however that doesn't change the fact that I "worry" about anyone with a gun. A lot of people are "law abiding citizens" until they decide to use their gun to break the law. But even if everyone who owned a gun would never think of breaking a law, even an...
  14. Check us out in Sign Builder Illustrated this month!

Congrats "Color"! Huh, I'm just now seeing this, but it looks like we are in there too. The old man is on page 4, 22 and 25 and we did the top police car on page 57.
  15. A few more things I've been up to lately.

I think all of John's sketch's should be compiled into one post for posterity's sake I know I have a few he has emailed me that I would love to contribute :clapping: if he was okay with that of course.
  16. A few more things I've been up to lately.

  17. Hospital nurse found dead after prank call on Catherine

Who says that? You think that by sounding like an Englishman for the Victorian Age we'll all be impressed? Twaddle I say! That's pure poppycock, kind sir! chip chip cheerio - right-o! (I guess it kind of fits the topic though.)
  18. Joe Diaz. I have a question....

There is one happening Thursday by fellow CorelDRAW master Richard Reilly http://coreldraw.com/blogs/coreldraw/archive/2012/12/06/don-t-miss-this-free-webinar-about-creating-high-school-sports-team-t-shirt-designs-with-coreldraw-174.aspx I'm not sure when my next webinar will be. I'll...
  19. Joe Diaz. I have a question....

It sounds like you are talking about a contour not an outline. In Corel the width of the Outline is not "true vector" until you "convert outline to object". In other words I can't send a 2 inch wide outline to my plotter and cut both edges of that outline unless I first convert it to curves...
  20. Joe Diaz. I have a question....

It depends on the project, sometimes I can picture what I want to create better than other times. I have found that the longer I have been doing this, the easier it comes to me, yet I'll still have those bad days where nothing seems to fall into place. Either way, almost everything is guided by...
