  1. Contour cutting black reflective?

Just cut a small square of trans white vinyl and lay it over the reg mark. Trace the reg mark with a fine sharpie.
  2. What thickness styrene?

How are these being mounted? That would determine thickness. Any VHB or thick tapes or even velcro will cause it to bow inward from the edges if it's too thin, so you'd want like .060 or higher.
  3. Applying laminated vinyl to ACM question

I don't get why you'd do this. Why not just make your print 47.75" x 95.75" and inset it? And what if the image is full bleed? Then you have a thin white border around it. We just trim to the edge. Never have an issue.
  4. Font Help please

    Looks like Serpentine, with modifications.
  5. Need a Camera

We have employees here who struggled to take a decent photo with their phones (most all iPhones). Once I sat them down and showed them how to use it properly, they were amazed. The quality of photos from phone cameras these days is pretty dang good, IF you know how to use it. Of course, if you...
  6. An unusual font help request

I'd use something like Eurostile Bold Extended.....reasonably close, with some tweaking
  7. Need a font I.D. please

    of course....thanks!
  8. Need a font I.D. please

I probably zipped past it 2 twice scrolling through.....TIA
  9. Big magnets

Avoid selling magnets larger than 12 x 24 for cars. And also make sure they can even use them....so many cars and trucks now with aluminum or plastic doors. I'd say decals only for that job.If they want removable/repositionable, Glass Adhere works pretty well on cars.
  10. S50675 - Pantone Colors not matching. Cyan especially

Good god none of those are 298C. That's a very light blue you should be getting.
  11. Need Help Mounting wallpaper on PVC

Seems you answered your own question. Wallpaper requires wallpaper glue, so..... But honestly, I'd tell them 'these new prints are not what I normally get and if you want me to create the same product, either send on the correct media or send the files and I'll print them myself'.
  12. Printing Issues with 3M SV480mC Wrap Material

I haven't strayed from 180 for these reasons....hearing people having issues. 180 V3 hasn't let me down in the 12 years or so I've used it.
  13. Printing Issues with 3M SV480mC Wrap Material

Maybe a mix up in packaging and your SV roll is actually an LX, which is for Latex or UV? It could happen.....I've opened boxes of 3m marked Gloss before only to find a Matte roll inside.
  14. Need Help Font help please

Handpainted lettering.....based on Old English of some type
  15. Question for medium and large sign shops

? I would say the design workstations, printer area, production tables, fabrication areas, offices, the front door that you walk through? Agreed....odd question.
  16. Glass Splashback Reverse Print - Adhesives?

Another method would be to use .040" aluminum on the back of the completed sign, using double sided adhesive to attach. Then VHB mount to the wall. The aluminum is what will stick to the wall, not the laminated print.
  17. Looking for post and panel type poles only

For extra durability, we send out for powdercoating on most all of our custom post and panel signs.
  18. Vinyl Express plotters

Yes it is cheaper, for the same model machine. a Q54 is a Graphtec FC8600-54, with a couple less features, and is about $1000 less.
  19. Vinyl Express plotters

Whatever brand you buy, get larger than 48". At LEAST 54". I assume most people are buying 54" print vinyl, as we do, so you need at least the 54" or 60" to cut on.
  20. Random white spots on red.

I seem to remember having weird stuff like that happen on our old Roland. I guess switching to all HP Latex solved it. :)
