I'm tired of my old logo. So I had Weaselboogie come up with a new mascott (although my old one by John Deaton was great) and I'm trying to put it together into a retro-style layout.
Thoughts? Suggestions?
Well, if I was in your neck of the woods, I'd be inclined to take that $15 an hour. That's a fair wage to start at IMO.
But, maybe outsourcing would be a good idea in the meantime. I'm sure you could find a designer willing to work right now for $25-30 an hour. There may even be some smaller...
Or, you can use the Color Styles docker. Right click on one of the colors in your drawing and change it. It's not 100% perfect unfortunately, but works well 75% of the time.
I think it's a GREAT image for advertising. And it fits very well with his company image. Shows that he helps companies 'emerge' from their current image and morph into something better. :D
A handshake on the other hand is kind of trite and overused.
It's a nice layout. I agree though, there's too much script. Use the san serif font for the names. It'll make it more pleasing.

It's for an Ice Cream shop not a brand, I should have clarified that. So Ice Cream being more prominent is a good thing. But I agree, the outlines need some work. They're muddying up the name...
