Just want to say 'thanks' for everyone's help and info when looking at printers.
Did a lot of research, looked at the numbers, talking to people who switched, taking into account our current clientele, as well as the ability to expand into new markets, it looks like the best decision is two HP...
Heat gun and elbow grease, and adhesive remover. We tried one of the POD systems a local supply rep dropped off for application and removal and wasn't impressed. In theory it sounded great but in practice the steam didn't get the temperature that was helpful, the holding tank was small and...
We use the 180 CV3 all day long and never have any issues with it. Apparently the new 'mc' is supposed to be pretty nice with new channel set up and easier liner release. One of my biggest issue is the laminate that goes with the 480 series, it seems to have a bit more yellowish tint to it...
It sounds like your really frustrated with creating a new workflow for your new printer. Have you reached out to anyone at Flexi or HP to see if there might be a patch or even workaround for these issues. Your other post about the 560 color and media issue sounds like they have been resolved...
It should take just a few minutes to laminate it... depending on the speed of the laminator you could do a whole roll in 15 minutes.
maybe we're asking the wrong questions....
Scphotog- Maybe a little more detail on what your doing and we might be able to better assist you cause what your...
Do they already have the sign produced, and they have come to you to install it? Or are they looking at you to producing the sign? Can you print it and apply it, maybe use a concrete wrap material? No screws and you could get it done in a day.
Look at latex printers as well. If time is an issue Latex allows you to print/laminate in the same day. As far as the white and metallic inks go, I had a Roland with metallic inks and we never used it.... we wasted a metallic ink every few months just because it had to cycle through the...
Take the time and remove 1sqft. Time yourself and estimate how much remover you use. Lets say that it take you 5 minutes per sqft... and if it's a 52' x 10 ft trailer that's 520 sqft. So if my math is correct it should take you about 44 hours to clean each side. Not sure what your hourly...
A little off the topic, but why the 560 and not the 570? If your going to spring for the new printer why not go for the bulk ink system to help lower your cost?
We use them and it seems to be ok. It's not 'everything' that you would want and the site design and search option have a little to be desired but they have stock images, vectors, vehicle templates and fonts which is nice.
From what I've seen Shutterstock is great for just about everything...
Don't use Oracal much but ave you asked the client how often they wash the vehicle? What they use as a soap? Did they use a pressure washer? Did they try to wax the vehicle with some type of buffer?
As far a the layered material coming up, we have found that in colder climates, when...
I would still stay with PDF.. while this particular issue is with Flexi, and yes you can flatten/raster the image and send it but overall sending PDF's is a universal format that can be used buy almost every program. If I create it in Photoshop I can save as an editable PDF so that you can open...
