If you have a local financial institution that you deal with you could make a deal with them. Go to the branch manager and say hey I have clients that want to do a vehicle wraps but the upfront cost is a little hard for them to swallow. Can you finance the wrap? Maybe make a deal where if you...
We're looking a picking up a new printer as well and this is also our question. After doing a lot of research, we are finding that for our needs we're leaning towards HP 570 Latex. The fact that you can print and laminate right afterwards is a going to be pretty cool. One thing that you do...
So a few things to try...
On the machine you can choose what type of material... try choosing 'banner'. This might help.
Also maybe look at unspooling the material a few feet at a time as it's running. The 8000's don't like heavy rolls (I've run into this with large banner and reflective...
Never had one mildew on me either. Maybe grab a small spray bottle fill with water and use a little bit of dish washing soap in it. This will help reduce friction as well as help with the mil-dew issue. Also maybe let them dry out overnight instead of just throwing them into your pouch....
So living in a northern climate I like yourself I have had issues like this before. The cracking/tearing/stifness is because the material has gone through too many temperature changes. After you laminating them did they go outside at any point for any length of time or into a colder part of...
When you say that you wipe the heads with a dry cloth what do you mean? Are you wiping the bottom of the heads or the just the sides? FYI never touch the bottom of the heads....ever.
What instructions are you following to clean the machine? Are you following the book or someone else's...
This is a little confusing for me, I don't think that I've ever heard of anyone using two rip software's at the same time, so your printing with Versaworks but cutting in Felxi? Why not print and cut in Versaworks or just in Flexi? What is the issue with cutting? Is it off or is it not seeing...
This is a solvent ink printer. Solvent inks will dry in the heads and lines. Because of this the machine is designed to move ink through the lines and heads every XXX amount of time. Some solvent printers have a 'sleep' mode that you can use if your worried about power, however I'm not sure...
Do you have a printer? You could just print the different colors with a bleed and than plot it. If you don't have a printer than you cut out the whole sticker in white. Each of the white dashes are going to be a placeholder for each color so I would suggest getting a blade and cutting the...
I guess it all depends on what thy want the image for. If they want it for a wrap and needs to be hi-res than pay a photographer. If they just need something that's lo-res for a website or card than run down there with a decent camera and snap one on a good day.
Not sure what your asking here? Are you asking how to apply it? How to create it in the software? How to produce it? What are your capabilities as a shop, what type of equipment are you working with?
I don't deal with the guys so I'm insulated from the sales people. This is what my company chooses to use and I don't have any huge complaints. They have vehicle templates, stock graphics, and vectors...
Have you looked at Smooth Coro? I've never used it but it might work? If not what about laying down graphic to thin sintra, than sticking that to the coro on both sides. A little more labor and materials but might a little easier to work with and you have the flutes slide the holder through...
DunbarPG,
I'm in a similar position at my shop as far as the new digital guy who designs/prints/laminates/install. I have found it's always best to ask question. After about two years of consistently asking questions on jobs I have found that the sales people are now better at explaining what...
