  1. Can you run a Large format off a laptop?

Can you run a printer from a laptop? Yes Should you? No When ripping large files, your CPU will be sitting on 100% for as long as it takes to rip. if this was on a laptop, it'll get hot, thermal throttle and slow it down until it cools. On a properly built pc or workstation, this is less...
  2. Onyx production manager help

Edit: I couldn't connect to Onyx Production manager on my laptop, but could on the RIP PC. Realised that i had to allow port 80 thought the PC firewall. Problem solved
  3. Discussion Color Gamut/Profile

From what you have just said, you have no reason to print to a standard. i can understand with wanting the same colour output though out the whole shop, but if they just print to their maximum capability, all the printers will be very close anyway as long as they're all calibrated correctly.
  4. Cant match this tone on sepia print

That's your issue. You either need to find the specific profile for the media your using, it seems as you have, but specifically does your profile match the media name. for example the 3M profile is for the ij35c media, and not the RadGraphicx stuff you're using. So it's no surprise it wont...
  5. Discussion Color Gamut/Profile

I print to my printers full colour gamut. most people don't have a need to use a printing standard like GRAcol or Fogra unless you're printing commercial products like magazines, packaging. You're basically just limiting your printers colour output to match a standard.
  6. Color profiling; Things I ponder.

It's also far more complicated than that. the "chart" is only 1 thing, but the rip also controlls ink drop sizes, ink limits and curves and more depending on your printer, So for example, your printer is shifting colours after a month, you can re linearise and changes the ink curves back to how...
  7. Need Help Trouble with color profiling. Roland RF-640. CMYK.

  9. i1 Pro v HP 365 on board

Your comment really confuses me. How do you calibrate your printer IF you use the manufacture profile? Or do you mean, you linearise your printer each morning? unless you're confusing terms and im not making sense of it. None the less, I think this video may help you.
  10. i1 Pro v HP 365 on board

im not sure what you're asking, but if you're talking about printer profiling then: Depends on the software you have... and what RIP are you using? Does the HP do it all automated? or is there user input on ink limits ect? is there any adjustments in the ICC creation? IICR the HP on-board...
  11. Wanted - A Few Guinea Pigs for Testing

Sorry missed the link in that post, but that example is much better. I know it's also difficult to enlarge images of people with out them looking like a cartoon. I can see what you're trying to do and it's great. But i'll stand by where colour grading should be left alone unless specified by...

You can use the swaps to soak the heads with the flush. let them soak for an hour probably. ever few minutes just keep adding flush and dont let it dry purge it. do the suction. do a few tests. have a look. then i'd use isopropyl to swab them. let them soak for a few minutes. then use a dry swab...
