I've got a surface pro 2 (256gb version) that I have the CS6 running on. Its fantastic, I can run Photoshop and Illustrator together and not have issues with performance. I haven't used them for huge files (mainly editing photos for web use/creating logos) but I think it would handle it. They...
Have you done a head cleaning? check the edge guard and make sure there isn't any ink build up on it, also under the right compartment (where the head stands) check the wiper etc. Are you getting any error messages?

They do that to keep us in business. They don't want to just sell to anyone. We had to provide proof that we were a signshop (website etc.) then got our login information and price guide. Easy easy and they're great to work with and supply a great product.

We would print/cut/mask the logo then apply it wet using a rapid tac/water solution (50/50 mix). Then just leave it to dry out for a day or 2 and its good to go. Easiest way as when applying wet you can move it around into position before squeegeeing the solution out.

Been a while since I've used MDO but we used to use a decent wood glue and water it down slightly. Then paint the edges with the glue mixture, wait to dry, paint again, sand smooth, paint once more, and sand smooth when dry. Then primed and painted with a good oil based paint. (sorry I don't...
We've got a job coming up that requires floor graphics and our distributor has suggested to use 3M IJ162 as the base material but can't even get us a sample - will only sell us a full roll. I know I've seen everyone talks about the Oracal vinyls, so I'm wondering if someone would have a...
Wow am I glad I asked these questions and didn't just jump at it. Think I'm going to pass on it! Seems like too much work for a occasional side job and not much for a payback.
Thanks all for your input!

So I've got a chance to purchase a small 4 color screen printing kit and since I've never really dealt with screen prints before (only digital) so I'm wondering everyone's view on if it's worth getting into (side projects). It comes with everything in the photo (4 wooden screens, flash dryer...
Yes I have a computer, Yes I have Adobe... I'm a designer... One of the things I learned in school. Just finished up a graphic design program and been hesitant to put my name out there as a designer as I'm bit nervous that my quality of work may not be up to par (even though I've got over a...
Here we call it PET G... comes in all those different thickness's. I would just use a good lam that is meant for floor graphics (drytac interlam pro emerytex) should do the trick.

That's not a horrible idea, depending on what the alum panel material is, there are brushed chrome vinyls (ie. Avery brushed chrome SF 100-840-S) that you could put on the back of the letter then tape. I would advise against using silicone on the vinyl as in my experiences the silicone overtime...
I agree with PUSH, it does look like the alum. panel has been routed (either all the way through or just a bit) and the letter sitting in. 3M has a thin clear adhesive tape that would probably work. I can't remember the name of it but it comes in different width rolls which you can lay a piece...
No I hadn't found a solution... restarted everything (even router etc.) and it all started to work again fine... no clue why it happened but haven't had the issue since.

Just thought of something else, depending on how big the substrate is and if you have a laminator, you could run it through that to put the etch down. That way you eliminate using an application solution altogether.
