Makes sense. I'm just surprised I've never heard of this before. You would think the push to move all new units to LED curing would be a bit faster if the manufacturers knew this was coming.
Just out of curiosity, what's the ratio of your new models that get mercury halide vs LED? Are there...
I'm also curious about this, but I'd be surprised if it was anytime soon. Especially considering the amount of new UV printers that are still outfitted w/ Mercury Halide bulbs vs LED. I was just speaking to our Canon/Oce rep last week and I'm pretty sure he said only one of their new models...
Would you be willing to share your forms by any chance? I can send you a PM with my email if you'd prefer not to share publicly. If you'd rather not, I completely understand. Just figured I'd ask as we're working towards implementing this as well.
Thank you.
We have a project that involves some 4'W x 8'H coroplast signs for a street party coming up this weekend. (Canada Day, eh!)
Customer is on a tight budget but we've offered to help/sponsor as much as we can.
That being said - we need to come up with something that will accommodate (2) 4'W x 8'H...
I would have to say, short answer is no. As far as I understand it, the "UV" extension of laminate is referring to the ink/media and not to whatever it's being applied to. If you use a 10 year vinyl/laminate combo on a sheet of coroplast, you wouldn't expect that substrate to last that same...
I'll sometimes adjust pricing based on ink coverage. On small jobs I'll just use the high end ink/sqft cost but on larger projects it's worth having a look at actual ink consumption as it might surprise you. I'm talking the difference between some black spot text with white background vs...
Not at all... I don't like the busy city life either and escape to the country whenever I can.
Best of luck to you with your search, I hope you find something new and exciting!
Not familiar with Mimakis at all - but have you checked the blade holder?
Did you suddenly start getting these results or did it gradually get worse?
Does it happen with all material combinations or just a specific one?
I wasn't born yet............but I would have loved to have seen the industry back then.
I agree with you James, the daily challenges would have been quite different then. Now it's all about equipment (which I love, don't get me wrong), pricing pressure caused by low-ball online sellers, and...
Have you tried any adhesion promoters? I'm not too familiar with the HP UV inksets but we've tried these with our Oce Arizona:

Our monthly subscriptions are getting a little crazy. Just got an email from Dropbox proudly stating that our plan is going up $46.88 a year....with no real benefits that I can see.
Then there's Quickbooks, Adobe CC, soon to be Corel, etc etc.
Definitely miss the old days when you could just...
