  1. Logo Opinions

Then why bother asking our opinions? •conflicting angles •obscure message •use an icon, but make the name easy to decipher •blah font choice for DESIGNS I could go on, but I won't. Love....Jill
  2. What do you think?

Nope...looks like it's trying too hard to be cool. Harold's version has a better flow. Use a simple clean font for DESIGNS.
  3. Where are you? (Motivational)

Reminds me of a sermon I once heard about birth and death dates on a tombstone. The most important part of those dates is that little dash in between them. Love....Jill
  4. paint dipping dimensional items?

That and carefully blow some compressed air into the nooks and crannies. I've done this with HDU stuff, I stick toothpicks in the backs, but that may not work with PVC. Love....Jill
  5. What Caused This???

Could the print have been contaminated with something? Was this shipped through an extremely hot or cold area? I was thinking mismatch too as soon as I saw it even though I don't know anything about printing or laminating. Love....Jill
  6. Any Suggestion ?

Even Impact would look better than what you used.
  7. Hi There from a floating sign shop!

I can see the need in your area for a graphics supplier like this. I have dabbled with trying to build narrowboat roses in Corel. While I'd rather paint them, and would rather see boat graphics such as these done in the traditional fashion, I think you could bring in some cash. When I am over...
  8. What do you think?

#15 with maybe a plain gothic (not goth, a drafting looking font) typeface instead of the wedding invitation looking script. Thank God you took out the goofy strike-throughs. Love....Jill
  9. Any Suggestion ?

It looks very splotchy. If I were a potential customer I would worry that your prints would have poor coverage or short longevity. Try losing the distressed font. The halftone thing is OK but the background looks more like spray can blotches than a print. Love....Jill
  10. Weigh-Ins for the signs101 Losers (the good kind!)

I'm still holding at 148 but I really need to get firmed up. I want to weight 130# by my 50th birthday (three days after my son's wedding) so I better get cracking. While working at the deli makes me burn a lot of calories, I am getting SO stiff from the 7 hours I stand 4 days a week. And I am...
  11. Da-da-da-dum... It's official! Critique my logo?

Scrap it. First off, there is no contrast. You have conflicting light sources in your bevels. You used an X. I could go on and on, but I agree with what has been said, perhaps more nicely than I said it. Remove your emotions from it and design to appeal to what attracts customers, which is...
  12. This weeks truck striping

    Nice. Love...Jill
  13. nowhere else to go

Top left in post #5 with a tagline saying what you do. Love....Jill
  14. newest employee at the shop

    Congratulations! What a cutie. Love....Jill
  15. Hmmm...

Needs to look more chair-like and less foot-like. I don't think most hairstyling type chairs have that big of a footrest. I like the pink, is the shape supposed to be a mirror? Love....Jill
  16. Boat Vinyl Font ID

I think he meant DNA, as in Sign DNA. Love....Jill
  17. Crit please on design.

Fix the kerning. Make the main lettering black and the subcopy in orange inside a black panel that extends into the rhino. Only use one animal, lose the one in the background. Lose the Arial Round and try using all one font. Better yet, have your 8 year old kid design it. Love....Jill
  18. Font help please UGH

Engravers? Just a guess because you're cute. Love....Jill
  19. One Shot won't dry

Welcome to the new 1-Shot. I stopped using it about 2 years ago, and am only using up my old stock. I buy Ronan now. Anyway, this happened to me, both with Bright Red and Black. I was told to mist the sign lightly with peroxide and leave a fan running. Just make sure you have no dust in your...
