  1. Start of a Logo

Maybe it is supposed to be Sweet and Assy?
  2. Alumalite Squeegees? Worth it?

We just got a couple a month or so ago...they are great. Fantastic for applying 24-30" Rtape to cut vinyl. Use them for applying some vinyl to substrates, hard to get real firm pressure but you can always go back over with a small firm squeegee after applying, mainly with air release vinyl.
  3. vs-640i will not find registration marks for cut after laminate

That's how you always have to do it....you have to set the base point at the Black dot....otherwise it doesn't know where to start searching for the remaining 3 points.
  4. Quick Question - Ford Transit Vans

    Cool, thanks.
  5. Quick Question - Ford Transit Vans

Bidding on a Transit Van fleet...the larger Transit 150s and 350s. Anyone know the depth of the inset area around the sides? Havent seen one up close yet, just wanna know what we're in for on the installation of the sides.
  6. Anyone have a GOOD PhotoTex Profile?

Phototex with the Green print on the small tabs holding the roll together or on the box itself mean it's the Latex stuff. Doesn't print well on solvent.
  7. TIF files adding black background in Flexi

It was the stupid alpha channel being on. Not sure why that was set.... thanks.
  8. TIF files adding black background in Flexi

So I have been trying to import some TIF files in Flexi, new version 12. They are solid objects with white background. Suddenly in this new version, the files import with black backgrounds. Anyone else see this? Why would this even be happening? I'm now having to resave them as PSD files and...
  9. "carribbian" pirate font?

DO you need the font for other words or just PIRATES? Cuz that image is clean enough to vectorize and tidy up if it's just PIRATES you need.
  10. help with choosing cast for box truck.

Where did OP mention color change vinyl? Why would they use that on box trucks?
  11. Heavy Duty Corner Rounder

We have this, with the hole punch attachment as well. Works great.
  12. Making any money working for someone?

Yeah, if you want $70K/year, this is the wrong industry. I'd bet more than half of sign makers/designers/fabricaters are lucky to make half that. Of course some of us lifers may be in the top half of that range, but doubt very many are near $70K.
  13. How much compensation for a employee with zero experience/competency?

Yes, zero experience is not zero competency. We hired a guy with no experience, yet is very competent. He came from a sign supply company, he knew about materials but nothing of how to make a sign. He is now easily installing lobby signs, making pretty much whatever we need him to. It's all...
  14. MS Word Art

I do this...even with most AI and EPS files. Just saves the trouble of font issues, most color and gradient issues, and I control the resolution of my final print file.
  15. air release digital vinyl source?

    Cast? Cal? Warranty?
  16. Media take-up system - DIY?

LOL....I think spending $700 was what he wanted to avoid...hence the DIY part.
  17. My Latex Colors Look Like $h*t

Depends on the shade of grey....Most PMS Greys come out close to intended. I don't have one set grey I use.
  18. Large Sign in one piece

Reminds me of a customer that wanted a wall mural, 12' tall x 30 or so feet long. He wanted NO seams. After 30 minutes of explaining how this is done, material sizes, etc., he stormed out saying he would go somewhere else that "knew what the hell they were talking about". I just laughed at him.
  19. My Latex Colors Look Like $h*t

Profiling...profiling..profiling. I get the best reds I have ever printed on our latex, after years of struggling to get away form the orange-red that every other machine I ran gets. Even grays are superb.
  20. Artwork short by 2inches

YES...this. I was noticing my really long prints were a tad short....I ran the Output Size Compensation, turns out it was printing .0625" inches shorter per ft. than it should have been. Run a 20' banner like that and you lose 1.25" !!
