  1. Need tips on HDU

I see on your website, you have a 6 color Heidelberg press ($$$$$ sweet), and in your profile you list a versacamm & a 24" cutter (not so "high end" stuff). I'm going to assume that somewhere along the line, you decided that "signmaking" was a nice fit for your existing printing...
  2. Painting HDU

Thanks fellas!!!! I was apprehensive that it wouldn't give me a nice finish.
  3. Painting HDU

Can you prime and paint "Signfoam" with a spray can? I have a small project & I have the perfect match in a rattle can. I really hate the thoughts of mixing paint and the cleanup (spray gun), if I can get an acceptable finish out of a spray can. guess I can give it a try.....but thought I'd...
  4. Who did this banner?

I can only remember one easily changeable spelling error in the last 20 years. One of my competitors had a big bo-bo this past year. He lettered a trailer, 2 lighted sign faces & the company's building sign with "Funiture". Too bad he cramped everything soooooo tight in the layout, he was...

Good looking boy there SlightlyChilled. James, this one hits home with me.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xP-Sxfntdb4 to quote the song......There goes my life...my future....my everything.....ILY
  6. First day of kindergarten

We just went thru the "First Day of Kindergarten" saga 2 weeks ago. I was a mess also, and didn't handle it as well as she did. I'm still lost without her being here. 5 years old is too young to spend 5 days a week (all day) in school. IMO

  8. Bucket List

I can only imagine how you stumbled upon that picture Si. POSSIBLE GOOGLE SEARCH BOX WORDS "poked in the butt" "stabbed in the a$$" "make my butt hurt" ect.... Anyway you look at it..... its gonna hurt as bad coming out, as it did in. :ROFLMAO:
  9. Screw you 3M.

And??? Does this mean you are jumping the "screw you" ship, and joining forces? Are you still going to sign the boycott letter, in support of the smaller shops than yourself? And when 3m is done with ya, you'll have to go back to sacwraps, and sell all your toys sitting in the...
  10. Screw you 3M.

I feel your frustration Colorado. Definitely a bunch of BS what 3m is doing. Curious as to your plans..... Are you going to apply to be on their LIST now, or forever say "screw you" to 3m? Also curious as to how many of our members are currently on the LIST, and how its working out for them?
  11. More of Phillip's handywork...

  12. More of Phillip's handywork...

hell, he didn't see the highwall he just strolled off of. From what I've seen of Phillips work, he is top notch!!! Sorry the both of you are taking a beating on this one. I would also like to see something else besides that particular tape measure.
  13. ..................

    your point?
  14. Any hazards???

Thanks for the response carter. After leaving the alcohol rag on the ink, it would come off "crumbly" (lack of a better description), rather than what I had imagined.....that being, a watery ink that would stain your hands. Imagine wiping up "Signfoam" (HDU) dust with a wet paper towell...
  15. Any hazards???

take any of your tats off Si ?
  16. Any hazards???

Truthfully, I didn't notice any smell.....but of course the ISO is overwhelming too.
  17. Any hazards???

James, is that an official answer......or is that a "when in doubt" answer?? And yes, the isopropyl took it off clean and easy. It came off like....lets say "ashes"? crumbly ashes. One swipe to remove most. If it didn't sit long enough, then you would have to scrub a bit.
  18. Any hazards???

I have a customer with a couple dozen 10 mil coro signs that were printed on a UV flatbed. There is one line (2" x 20") that they would like removed (or covered). The text is all black, and not touching anything else. For giggles, I folded a paper towel, soaked with 91% isopropyl alcohol...
