  1. Logo critique

ditto, looks like an album cover, not a logo.
  2. Pricing Help Please

The price would probably depend on how many trucks you're doing at once & if you have a garage to do an install like this. (depending on the season at your location) A rough estimate just guessing would be around $800-$1000/truck?
  3. Is this an overlay?

I'd say the clear is laminate extending 1/8" outside of the vinyl's dimensions. We do it a lot with specialty materials like engine turn, fake gold leaf, etc where it is required by the mfg. on projects like fire trucks. We also do it on certain graphics with skinny points to keep the points...
  4. J. K. Rowling's, "Casual Vacancy"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nc7ZaZz4CoU That about says it all.
  5. Laminator?????????????????

We purchased the GFP 54" about 2 months ago to do away with our old cheapo (UStech?) laminator. It is awesome! it has heat assist, but I leave it on a low setting ~100 degrees. We can do roll-to-roll of the entire roll!!! & small sheets with no issues. (as long as there are no operator problems...
  6. Any Ideas on this font?

It is REAL close to Triplett CG Light, but not an exact match...
  7. Ambulance Wrap Project

This one is subtle, it doesn't have to conform to the regular ambulance standards in the area thankfully. It only takes the passenger on their final ride home from Hospice or the hospital. It will never travel at a high speed.
  8. vehicle wrap designs

That is what I would charge, personally on the side, for a wrap design. As a business, our price would be at least double that. it also depends on the designer's level of experience and work samples.
  9. Walmart Tire and Lube center sucks!

I always maintain my own vehicles; it helps that we have a very nice shop here at work with a lift. ;) However, a long time ago I was at Walmart... and they put the sporting goods section near the tire & lube area, so I saw a sign for a $15 or so oil change, and I thought; well that saves me...
  10. Ambulance Wrap Project

Here is the inside, everything was created to line up perfectly for a seamless flow, but once the inside was re-assembled, there is so much coverage around the edges by cushions, etc that it was probably over-complicated, lol.
  11. Ambulance Wrap Project

We just wrapped an ambulance for the local Hospice, to give the patients a more inviting ride home. They had their in-house artist paint 5 paintings for the inside and 4 paintings for the outside, and we had them scanned in and combined them into the two images you see here. The inside was a...
  12. Looking for something similar

Thank you all! Iglesia worked good enough!
  13. Looking for something similar

A client of mine wants a sign with a font similar to the attached image. Can anyone offer an idea? This is a small quickie project; so the cheaper the font the better, or possibly I already have it. I need a good font manager...
  14. Nissan Leaf Wrap - need feedback

Looks a LOT better than the wrap the dealership up here had us do... Make SURE you measure the hood and rear hatch (and rear window if you're window-perfing it) correctly, the templates are nowhere near accurate for these vehicles.
  15. Font question

In Illustrator, go to Object>Flatten transparency> then convert strokes to outline. Then, use the pathfinder palette to merge the stroke and fill.
  16. Contract Installer Agreement?

Our contract installer has always treated us fairly, and we treat him well in return. However, we have a few large projects coming up dealing with multiple thousand dollars in payment - much more than the average job he works on here. So, we know we need the terms in writing before we proceed...
  17. Retroreflective vinyl?

If it's on the sides of the vehicle, then regular reflective is what they're after, more commonly called "Engineer grade" in the market/catalogs. If it's the Chevron striping on the rear; the majority of the time it is called "diamond grade" striping, which is just a 3M term. Reflexite makes...
  18. Retroreflective vinyl?

Retroreflective is a term they propagate along with "diamond grade" reflective. Since only they make vinyl called those two terms, guess what vinyl the graphics shop has to be use (buy) in the project when the customer requests "retroreflective" or "diamond grade" reflective materials? There are...
  19. Cartridge Problem with Epson Stylus 7800 Pro

I had a similar issue on my GS6000, one of the ink cart chips went bad and said bad cart when I replaced one of them; actually it said all the carts were bad at once... I would grab your old empties and see if one of them (it may not be the black cart) is causing an error, if none of them...
  20. small width laminate on a roll?

I'm sure your 200' of signgold is not one continuous piece, but smaller pieces cut out from one roll side by side, so your laminate should be able to be cut the same way... I always cut and weed the vinyl - leaving my registration marks, then laminate the material and cut it again with the...
