We use a Summa and Winplot to contour cut and it works a treat.

Create an Illo file with print data on one layer, and cut data on another.
Place the rego marks.
Print the print layer with the rego marks, then send the cut data with...
The test print looks alright.
Onyx 7 did produce slightly weak blacks where I had to go in and change to 100k 50, 50,50 if a large area. Never used k only.
Version 10 doesn't have this problem and blacks are generally dense.
You can never get stock art 150dpi at wall size.
Depends on the image. That one has little detail anyway.
Res it up to 72 or 100dpi in photoshop then view at print size.
I think you'll be surprised.
TBH I always thought their stuff was overpriced and not worth the premium.
There are plenty of other manufacturers out there with great quality product so who cares how much they put their prices up.
I can abide with a couple of my suppliers offering print services.
I don't like it and try and avoid putting too much money through them though.
What stinks about this case is locking independent shops out of work but the worst thing is lowballing. You kind of expect it from some quarters...
We have one 74" printer just so when anyone rings and says "what's the widest you can print?" we can say 1800mm.
We do use it a bit.
The other two machines are fine at 60".
From memory you replace the head every time you put a new ink cart in so not sure how 3rd party ink would help unless you can get cheap heads from somewhere.
