  1. Truck Lettering

Ask them if they would consider changing their name color from green to white.
  2. Thoughts?

  3. Truck Lettering

Definitely outline the logo with white.
  4. Van lettering, Need some help

I think I'd make the website bigger, in the back, on both sides. Then put the phone number at the same level on the regular doors. That way both website and phone number could be slightly larger. Love....Jill
  5. Thoughts?

Man that's just awful. Did the client also dictate the kerning?
  6. Truck Lettering

I can't see it either, too small. Maybe try a white outline or even a pale blue outline around the logo? It's hard to critique something you can't see. If the maroon stripe is not part of the truck already I'd eliminate that. Love....Jill
  7. first wrap

It would still stand out and look better than what you did, and adding a translucent natural drop shadow would help to make it look even more realistic.
  8. first wrap

Unskew the name. Lettering in white. Black on black and flames on flames doesn't stand out at all. Un-stretch the stuff on the bed, maybe just keep it straight and white too. Unslant phone number. Fix your Gr spacing on graphics. A cartoon of an insane looking pink pig might be nice. Love....Jill
  9. Need some critique and guidance

I loathe the pinched and arched Renegade. I hate how the icon separates the name from what they do. I'd stack Renegade (in a shreddy script) over trucking, with the feather thingy above. But put Renegade TRUCKING in a nice panel and overlay it onto the bottom of the feather thingy. Love....Jill
  10. What to take?

Make a whole bunch of little God Bless America decals, or figure out a way to abbreviate your town name into an "OBX" type oval (put a stamp on the back with your biz info) hand those out as a free sample. Whatever you do, DON'T make any Peeing Calvins or trademarked stuff like...
  11. Hall of Fame threads

    That's it! Thanks Fred. Hahahahaha
  12. Hall of Fame threads

Nope, but it would have been dated shortly prior to then. New guy came on, I can't remember the reason, and used the phrase "minus well" for "Might as well". Thanks for looking Fred!
  13. Hall of Fame threads

I can't find the damn "minus well" thread.
  14. Child Care Center Sign & Window

I just tell them no. If you can reasonably explain to them why it's not needed, most will listen. If they insist, I just charge extra and don't put it in my portfolio. :)
  15. Standing my ground....

Every time I get an email like this it makes me want to blow a gasket. My knee-jerk reaction is to get defensive. But people really don't realize (most of the time) that we don't just design for fun. "can you show us a few ideas and if we like them we'll go with your company?" GRRR I think your...
  16. Child Care Center Sign & Window

I usually never put an entire address on a sign, perhaps just their street number in a panel if I have to. And I usually only put one phone number on a sign. It seems like everything is kind of close to the edges, too. I would have tried more realistic looking silhouettes. Next time post your...
  17. Pre School Design. Want some input.

Nice font. :) When I use that sometimes I add a bit of "uppy downy" to the letters to make it more playful. I'd eliminate the brackets from the area code, and possibly put the name on a white or yellow panel to make it pop out more. I hate that you are stuck with those colors, plain white with a...
  18. gerber composer, corel,Illustrator which one is the easiest and easy to learn

I started with Gerber in 1998 and didn't get the guts to try Corel until 2005. If you give it a chance, Corel is really smart, and has so many more useful features than Composer. Like Signage says, the tutorials are really helpful. I'm a very stubborn person, however, and usually I learn best...
  19. Where is my inspiration??? Electricians Van

Never ever outline black with red and try to avoid outlining red with black. Love....Jill
