If you see a dirty guy walk down the street, crawl into a cardboard box, sleep there, and then come out in the morning - he MIGHT not be homeless...But it's a pretty safe assumption.
I know I'm right and you're wrong. You know how I know? Because I actually have experience in this industry. I also don't expect strangers who are somewhat busy in their own worlds to just fix my stupidity.
Make as many threads as you like - if your attitude stays the way it has so far...
I had all the facts :peace!:
Dude bought a printer without any idea if it worked. If he was buying it as a parts machine, then he wouldn't be worrying about it printing. It's pretty obvious that he is not familiar with this type of technology, as he had no idea what the possible issues he was...
Wait. You bought a used printer, and didn't get a test print done before you handed over the cash?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lose the radial gradient in the background. Either lighten the foreground or background - the earth tones are bleeding together visually. What is the application here? Banner?
4'x8' banner viewed from 100+ feet need much better prioritized copy, and to lose quite a bit of what is on there.
That being said, sounds like you did the best you could with what you had to work with.
As some of you know, I'm in the midst of launching a 3rd business (a self serve frozen yogurt shop). My business partner and I are getting ready to head towards St. Louis for 2 days at the manufacturing plant of Pacific Valley Dairy!
I'll still be lurking here, but mostly from my phone - so...
Lots of issues to take into account - the biggest one being the surface and intended speeds. Personally, I won't make anything more than 3sf in total size. Standard 12"x24"'s blow off all the time - imagine if a big old 24"x48" were to come flying off at highway speeds?
I'm willing to bet that Daktronics won't address Gino's problem at all. Seriously - i don't make a habit of bad-mouthing vendors, but those guys are El Terrible.
Daktronics sucks balls. They will undercut you in 2 seconds flat if they think they can sell the unit directly to the end user. Happened to me at least twice that I am aware of, and probably more often that I just thought I lost the job.
Watchfire all the way!
