  1. UCJV300 Date change

You can change the date but only by 1 or 2 days if I remember correctly. The simplest, hassle free way to get around this is to contact a 3rd party ink supplier and buy some new chips. I know for sure Bordeaux band has them available. The other way is to reset the main board but then you will...
  2. Discussion SP540V help... air in Magenta line

It is perfectly fine to have air bubbles in the cap top tube. Although the tube should be black not clear which means your cap top is probably aftermarket. We have had a lot of 3rd party cap tops not work properly for some reason so we always stick with OEM. If there is air above the damper then...
  3. Ink Remaining Indicator on Roland RF640

The ink system on these printers only guesses at the quantity available. They can be close but are rarely spot on. Take the cartridges out and rock them back and forth. You will be able to feel if they are empty or not. The machine does have hard stop if the cartridge is empty which is a sensor...
  4. JV33 print discoloration

It's cross contamination. Your maintenance parts are probably just failing. The kit should do the trick. In some rare cases the head is damaged internally but it's usually a bad pump/damper/cap.
  5. Need Help Mutoh 1624 Creating weird color bands

That's an electrical short in the print head circuit. Check your head cables for ink splatter, corrosion and/or any other damage. If you fins any that is most likely the issue. In most cases I just change the cable to rule it out as it is usually the problem. Other than that it could be the...
  6. Need Help What is my issue? Media Brand, ICC Profile, or?

I think if you put 3MIJ180 in there and printed with that profile it would look a lot better just like at the former shop. The reason this one doesn't look so good is probably the profile just not being a good fit for this material. You either want to create your own profile if you have the...
  7. How to change the ink type on a Mimaki JFX200-2510

I just took a look at the latest service document and it doesn't list LUS-120 as one of the options. I double checked and it is supported by the JFX200 but for whatever reason they haven't updated the service document to add it in. Your best bet is to call Mimaki and speak to them. It's just a...
  8. What makes Roland printers so much more expensive than Mimaki?

In my experience as a tech there are more Roland techs out there but once you can fix a Roland you can also fix a Mimaki and Mutoh and Epson because they all use the same print heads and ink systems. Mimaki and Roland are starting to use Ricoh heads in their machine more an more as well but at...
  9. Trying to rebuild VJ-1324 head

Color order as seen from above: KCCY KYMM What did you flush the head with? Also, baffles is such a New England term haha. I'm not making fun of you just haven't been home in a while and it caught me off guard. We call them dampers for the most part. You have to remove the the ink lines from...
  10. No ink output from head after through cleaning -HELP !

That is the safe way so that should be fine. The only thing I can think of other than electrical issues is the cleaning solution has receded up into the lines and you need to suck it out with a syringe to get just ink. I usually don't recommend overnight soaks for that reason. Sometimes it sucks...
  11. No ink output from head after through cleaning -HELP !

You could check the fuses on the main board just to be sure they aren't blowing for sure. What is your method of soaking heads? Do you do it in the machine on the cap tops or take them out?
  12. Need Help SP540V get past cleaning

There is a little hole under the printer right below where the cap tops are. In that hole is a little flat metal rod that when turned will allow you to manually move the caps up and down without any power. That will at least cap your heads until you can get it up and running.
  13. Need Help SP540V get past cleaning

Ok that should work fine. I was thinking maybe you were using the old way which would not have worked and sent you right into cleaning. Unfortunately that's all I can think of off the top of my head. There are some other guys on here better with Rolands like JoeHouse. Good luck!
  14. Big problem with Mutoh 1204

You have a short in the head signal circuit. Check out your head cables and make sure they are not damaged, have no ink splatter on the leads, and/or signs of corrosion. If any of those things are present, replace the cables. Other than that it can be a whole lot of other electrical issues such...
  15. Need Help SP540V get past cleaning

Which method are you currently using to get into service mode?
  16. No ink output from head after through cleaning -HELP !

Unfortunately if you can pull ink from the cap top through the head and it still doesn't fire after a cable swap, the head is most likely fried. It could possibly be a pump or cap top issue but it sounds like you are getting ink flow from cleanings which means something should fire even if not...
  17. Mutoh 1204 no ink

Sounds like the cap top is bad. I would start by changing that and also making sure the bottom of the head doesn't have a ton of ink built up on the bottom which can cause it to not seal properly with the cap top. Also, just make sure when you are pulling ink from the waste tubes with a...
  18. Mimaki RasterLink 6 - "QuickSets"

In Rasterlink they are called "Favorites". If you click on the profile tab and then look up to the top left of that window there will be a, "Favorite" tab. You set all of your settings how you want them and the save the favorite as anything you want. This will create a separate hot folder for...
  19. Alignment on media issue

Since the carriage was changed I am assuming the cutter holder is probably out of wack. I know there isn't a cutter on that machine it's just what they call the piece that holds the solenoid that unlocks the carriage and the media sensor. It's a separate piece that attached to the left side when...
  20. Mimaki UCJV-300 Reviews

The maintenance is the same as solvent printer. Clean the cap tops and head surfaces once in a while. I don't have any customers using the clear so can't really speak to it. They all use white though and have had no issues.
