  1. pricing custom guest parking signs

    Did you use 23K SignGold?
  2. Two Scenarios - How To Price?

We actually do that a lot. Quick tip, have them tape a regular old piece of 8.5x11 printer paper next to the location of the sign... If they can figure out how to take a good, straight on picture, you can scale it from the image they sent you, Ta-Da! I always want to help everyone, but I've...
  3. Two Scenarios - How To Price?

I've scared away a few potential customers telling them that my install fee is $150, regardless of how big the job is. Example: Customer - The doctor's office I work at needs to change one name on the window lettering, can you come out and measure, and then come back, peel the old name, and...
  4. A Pair of high profile jobs we recently completed.

Awesome!! When you walk to the left of the banner at Met Life Stadium, there is this round rubber mat thingy, and we made the stencil for the Met Life logo... The flooring company has yet to send me a picture of the finished job :(
  5. 4x8 sign foam sign installation

Have you had it routed yet? If not, have it routed singled sided on TWO different .75" panels, and then sandwich a piece of dibond between them. Install as you wish. Another benefit to routing two panels is the time you save, you can work on each side at the same time. It sucks having to wait...
  6. Step & Repeat Banner Stand

So.. an 8x8 banner would actually have to be an 8x7'11" banner?
  7. Step & Repeat Banner Stand

I guess I should just stop being lazy, and make it already.
  8. Step & Repeat Banner Stand

Nice. We don't have any tripods laying around though...
  9. Step & Repeat Banner Stand

I have a client looking for a Step & Repeat 8'x8' banner with stand. The banner is (obviously) not the problem... My question is, has anyone made a stand in house, or do you typically purchase it pre-fab? I'm pretty sure we can construct one out of either PVC or aluminum piping, but this week...
  10. Corten Steel

Now to find a local laser / waterjet cutter!
  11. Corten Steel

    That is awesome.
  12. Corten Steel

Thank you! Steel is a whole new playground for us, we have a lot to learn.
  13. Corten Steel

I have a client who is looking for a sign that will rust over time... So my google-fu turned up Cor-Ten (or weathering) steel. Has anyone used this material? How have you cut it? We can't cut steel in house, so I'll be subbing at least part of this job out. My original design called for a steel...

Signs365 is down, too. Glad we don't have GoDaddy!
  17. Properly prepping plywood or some other wood grain showing material

CNC some HDU with a woodgrain, paint, profit. I'm assuming you don't have a CNC (we don't either, YET...) but i'm sure you can find someone who can do it for you. It ain't cheap, but it will last and be awesome.
  18. Mounting panels to round posts...

YOU ARE AWESOME and totally just solved a huge problem I had. We took on a job knowing their very limited budget, and of course I want to do something that is not within that budget. We actually are going to do whatever we want and take what they give us (almost 20% of our sales this year are...
  19. 4Over

Other than their somewhat honkey upload process, I think they are very good as well. I've had a few problems (mostly with uploading) and they are usually really cool. I think their customer service is better than 4Over, too.
  20. silkcards.com MADE IN CHINA

I can get equivalent quality for the same price (less even) from someone in the US. I like seeing what everyone has to offer, which is why I decided to try them out. They weren't any less expensive or quicker than anyone else. In fact, they were the opposite... More expensive and slower.
