Were selling our mimaki plotter because our zund runs cut vinyl so well.
If you ever plan on upgrading to a larger machine, zund tools will be the same.
Zund has free phone support and they answer when you call most of the time. No need to create a ticket and wait for someone to call you...
I'm not seeing where your customer was asking for a discount Gene.
"Anything you can do to keep the cost down"
To me this sounds like he is looking for better production options. He seems to understand sheet yield and the higher costs behind full bleed printing.

If a customer calls me...
We have a Mimaki CG-160FXII For Sale in the classifieds section. Does anyone know what this might be worth? What would you pay for it if you were looking to buy?
2 step stakes per sign. You could even use 3 if your customer was concerned.
The heavy duty goalposts style frames may still bend in the wind right where the two sizes of steel meet. You'll still need 2 to nicely support a 36w x 24t sign.
Side note: all the coro manufacturers/extruders...
Just a year old. In great shape. Wyill crate for shipping. Call for a quote.
Included are a few extra blades and everything you need to get started. You'll just need a computer running illustrator.
Asking $5000. Located in Omaha, NE.
A few things we learned as we moved into wide format:
Although beach scenes and beautiful people are nice to see printing, they can hide alot of imperfections. Have them run huge sold swatches of light gray, blues and red.
Have them print large swatches of solid primary colors with some...
They probably build the bleed with pixel duplication. Softwares like Icut preflight do an amazing job. You'd be shocked at how fast and automatic that is. If their cutters and registration are accurate, you'll never know and you don't have to worry about creating bleed.
Thank you for the business!
I found the exacto blade doesn't hold up very well. I bought the nicest utility blades I could find and they worked well. Stanly carbide I think. You'll get several hundred feet out of a blade.
Pretty nice tool. Edges are pretty smooth through 4mm coro. Use new blades often. You'll need software that builds corner actions to set the blade direction though. Otherwise the corners are pretty bad.
We would love to work with you! Please call or email the office and be clear about the size you need. Although we print true to size 95% of the time, some production methods require the removal of material. Just let us know and we'll make sure we get you the right sign and size.
Our catalog minimum is 10 signs generally. We can custom quote a single sign though, it's just not real cost effective.
It doesn't really matter to us how many you buy, but the setup time is about the same whether you buy 1 or 100.
Another option would be a digital print with a clear UV...
It's all steel. The connectors are painted and the pipe is plastic coated. It's a nice system but still very economical. It's medium term outdoor durable as well.
The pipe is about 1.125" in diameter.
